About

Chez Gatsé provides an authentic exploration of Tibetan culinary traditions through a menu defined by hand-folded momos and robust, flavor-packed broths. The kitchen prioritizes traditional preparation techniques, ensuring that dumplings are served with perfectly spiced fillings and signature dipping sauces. Diners encounter a selection of hearty noodle soups infused with aromatic spices that mirror the mountainous regions of the Himalayas. The interior aesthetic remains minimalist and focused, prioritizing the sensory experience of the food over excessive ornamentation. Every dish emphasizes the contrast between savory proteins and freshly prepared dough, maintaining structural integrity and authentic flavor profiles. This establishment stands as a dedicated destination for those seeking traditional Himalayan staples, characterized by consistent quality and a strictly focused, ingredient-driven approach to regional cooking.

This is a place to get some authentic & tasty Tibetan food. The ambience is quitevold world style & serene. Food is consistently made to serve so a few minutes of waiting time is understood. The food is delicious, comes in good sized portions, & is easy on the tummy (this is important if you are out on a multiday trip). The couple who run the place are polite & considerate. Highly recommend visiting them for a lovely ethnic experience. The place is easy on your wallet as well.

Chez Gatsé Restaurant Tibétain is a hidden spot nestled on Montréal's Ontario Street offering an authentic taste of Tibetan cuisine that is both comforting & exotic. I had been eager to revisit this charming spot for some time, & my recent visit did not disappoint.

The restaurant is a quaint, family-run establishment that exudes warmth & character. Its unassuming exterior might make it easy to miss, but that would be a true loss for any food enthusiast. The intimate size of the dining area adds to its charm, creating a cozy atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The decor is thoughtfully curated, with elements that evoke a Tibetan ambiance-think vibrant colors, traditional patterns, & subtle cultural touches that transport you to the Himalayas.

The menu at Chez Gatsé is impressively extensive, featuring a variety of dishes that showcase the rich flavors of Tibetan cuisine. From the classic Gatsé to the ever-popular Momos (steamed dumplings filled with beef, vegetables, or cheese), each dish is crafted with care & served with homemade sauces & spices.

While the flavors are undeniably delicious, I found the portion sizes to be on the smaller side. The price point, though not exorbitant, might feel slightly off for those with a hearty appetite. If you're someone who enjoys a larger meal, you may want to consider ordering an extra dish or two to fully satisfy your hunger.

The service at Chez Gatsé is another highlight. The staff is friendly, attentive, & always ready to assist with a smile. Their genuine warmth adds to the overall dining experience, making you feel welcomed & valued.

Chez Gatsé Restaurant Tibétain is a delightful spot for anyone looking to explore the flavors of Tibet in a cozy, family-friendly setting. While the portions may be modest, the quality of the food & the inviting atmosphere more than make up for it. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning patron, this restaurant promises a memorable culinary journey that's well worth the visit.

Went there during the summer & we sat inside, no fan or AC was turned on. The owner/worker forgot to get us our bill & we sat there for about 20 minutes sweating. The same guy got furious when we didn't tip him & literally started shouting just because he wanted us to tip him. However, the food was very delicious & authentic.
