We love the throwback vibe & the great sandwiches here. It's our go to stop on the way out of Montreal. Plenty of parking & friendly service. Bonus that it's my dad's spot.
Food was nice. But ordered on the phone for pick up, came to the restaurant & was told to wait on the side until it's ready. There was a completed order sitting by the kitchen, but it was busy so I thought it was for someone else. I wait ~15 minutes before they call my phone & ask if I'm coming to get my food as it's been ready for a while. Turns out it was that bag near the kitchen. Good stuff.
we received a glass of water with debris that looked like thin fennel stalks. there was quite a bit peeled off inside the glass. We asked the waitress to comment on the kitchen. She emptied the glass in front of us & continued her service as if nothing had happened.. The kitchen didn't give us the impression of cleanliness... we saw a person come in with a coat & a hat.. & the prices have increased quite a bit.,.
Food was alright, not the best smoked meat I've had, fat is too hard, it's not melt in your mouth unfortunately. The fries & pickle were great. Service was ok.. please fix the men's bathroom.

Local friends brought us here right after our flight to try our first proper smoked meat sandwich & did not disappoint. Friday evening, it was quite quiet. The decor is very old school diner complete with vinyl booths, stained glass lamps (love!) & lovely service. We ordered the original smoked meat sandwich platter with some shrimp & steak & upgraded to a poutine of course. The sandwich was quite tasty but the steak was a little dry. Not surprising as we didn't come here for the steak. Loved the poutine though. A must try! We also ordered a cheesecake to go on the road with us to share with some friends & OMG is it heavy & dense! True deli cafe style. I love my cheesecake but I couldn't finish my slice sadly.
