Afficher toutsmoked meat(56) sandwich(18) deli(13) fries(12) cheesecake(9) chenoys(6) changed(6) style(6) to go(5) old fashioned(5) chicken(5) decor(5)This is just to remind myself not to go there again. The gentleman whobserved me was very pleasant. I ordered at 11:38 & got my food at 11:48hrs. The French fries were like I microwaved them from the night before & were scarce. Pickle & coleslaw were fresh. I specifically asked for medium fat & received the leanest smoke meat I have ever been served....not happy. Also, the meat had NO flavour. The only zip from the sandwich was from some extraneous pepper. For the price I should have gone to yagel bagel, microwaved the meat & ate my pickles from home. For the price? Meh & naw...
Smoked meat experience in Montreal! I had the medium smoked meat platter. Food was very good & the waiter was friendly & helpful.
Delicious smoked meat sandwich. Friendly service. Lots of parking
Thank you to Sarah & Jenny for accommodating our group of 40 to celebrate our closing night. You were so patient, quick & friendly. The group was very grateful.
We love the throwback vibe & the great sandwiches here. It's our go to stop on the way out of Montreal. Plenty of parking & friendly service. Bonus that it's my dad's spot.
Great service & friendly atmosphere. Thank you for allowing me to ride down memory lane ❤️
Food was alright, not the best smoked meat I've had, fat is too hard, it's not melt in your mouth unfortunately. The fries & pickle were great. Service was ok.. please fix the men's bathroom.
Local friends brought us here right after our flight to try our first proper smoked meat sandwich & did not disappoint. Friday evening, it was quite quiet. The decor is very old school diner complete with vinyl booths, stained glass lamps (love!) & lovely service. We ordered the original smoked meat sandwich platter with some shrimp & steak & upgraded to a poutine of course. The sandwich was quite tasty but the steak was a little dry. Not surprising as we didn't come here for the steak. Loved the poutine though. A must try! We also ordered a cheesecake to go on the road with us to share with some friends & OMG is it heavy & dense! True deli cafe style. I love my cheesecake but I couldn't finish my slice sadly.
server was friendly & the food was great. My parents wanted good montreal smoked meat & they weren't disappointed. We liked the family-friendly deli vibe. I ate the fish & chips which were super yummy too.
Old school deli & restaurant. Opened 24 hours. Large parking lot, easy to find a space, the entrance is around the front. We went in for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday around 10:30am. No wait to sit down. Service was friendly & helpful answering questions we had about the menus. Coffee & water was quickly served while we settle on what to order. The decor is old school deli/bar counter as well as leather booths. The lights above the booths have Chenoy 1936 emblazoned on them. Good variety of selections, have a separate breakfast menu as well. The smoked meat is available in different items throughout the menu. Had the smoked meat omelet, & the big boy breakfast combo. Food came out quickly, hit the spot. If I came again I'd definitely have the smoked meat sandwich. The meat in the omelet had a nice classic smoked meat flavor.
We stopped in for lunch & ordered cheeseburgers & fries plated with coleslaw & pickles. I know it's a simple meal, but it was presented well & tasted great. The decor is of another time, but the standards were what I remembered as a youth. Their menu has quite a large variety. The atmosphere is relaxing, & I can understand why it has been in business for decades.
Eating at Chenoy's was meant to be a trip down memory lane...Chenoy's is barely a shadow of what it used to be. It was disappointing & under whelming after an almost 20 yr. absence from living in the area. Perhaps my memories are slightly tainted on the nostalgia- however, even as a stand alone dining experience it paled to a number of similar deli style restaurants. I ordered the Jumbo Plate. It was less meat than I was told (definitely Not the 1 lb they told me before ordering)... the rest of the meal was made up of lots of fries (over compensation?) & a decent side coleslaw. All in all - Quite Over Priced! While the food quality was good, I could not say it was exceptional in any way. As far as atmosphere- the place was & seems dead every time I go by it.
The pizza with the smoked meat was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was also super nice & friendly. Will be back asap
At first, I thought the portions were quite small for a 40$ trio but it ended up being quite a meal & with a decent amount of leftovers. The fries were a bit soggy, maybe due to it being delivered, & the wings were normal. The smoked meat was good, quite tender, but I would have preferred it more if the meat had more fat in it. The coleslaw was good & the bread was alright. My favourite part was definitely ribs. It was glazed with amazing flavours & the slightly charred exterior made the ribs so addictive. It complemented the tender meat so amazingly & it was quite delicious. On the other hand, I was quite disappointed in the Strawberry shortcake. For one slice to be charging 9$, the cake was really underwhelming. The strawberry itself barely had any flavours & the texture of it was weird. The sponge cake itself was soggy & the texture was also a bit off. It wasn't an amazing dessert following the great ribs. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal for a reasonable price. I wish they had a better ratio of vegetables in their trio but that is probably just me. Their menu offers such a wide selection of meals, it is a great place for a larger party as everyone can easily find something they enjoy.
For their smoked meat & deli, as well as cheesecake, it's great. They have the best smoked meat on the west island, better than Pete's. The rest of the food is mediocre, & although the service is friendly, it's very slow. The decor could use an update as well.
I would have given 5 star if the fries were good. We left all of our fries on the plates for both of our meals unfortunately. Other then that the sandwiches were both tasty, the french onion soup was ok, wouldn't order it again. Stick to the smoked meat folks.
The portion of fish was huge. Burgers were delicious, great fries too!
Expensive.. Disappointment. $29 + tip.. for a handful of soggy fries, & a poorly sliced jumbo sandwich. Bread was soaked, fries undercooked & small portion. This place has lost a step. Pu Jamais..!
As a young adult, Chenoy's was one of the only restaurants that was open late, or 24/7. After clubbing, it was the place to go & grab a bite before heading home. That was some time ago, & it hasn't changed. The old-fashioned smoke meat is exactly the same. Served warm on rye bread with yellow mustard. I ordered the combo, so the sandwich plate had fries, coleslaw, & a crunchy pickle. To be honest, the meal was very good except for the fries. They weren't quite cooked enough. The inside & outside were cold & limp. Not the best. We did enjoy our lunch. Service was quick, so it's the perfect place to go for a business/work lunch hour.
Smoked meat is decent. The lady behind the counter is not very friendly.
