We had the lunch special which was noodles & starters & a seltzer drink. The rice dumplings had a standout peanut sauce & great sesame flavour. The noodles were great. My friend had their'duck' soup which he couldn't stop raving about. You couldn't tell it was vegetarian, the dishes are all so well flavoured. The owners are really nice & it's a happy place to hang out at. Will have to try their desserts next time.
I've already been to Chai-yo twice since it opened & I'm really eager to go back to try the rest of the menu. The food is incredibly tasty & the portions are generous. I had the seitan duck bahn mi my first visit, & the seitan duck noodle soup my second, which were both fantastic. As someone who is a big foodie who grew up in Asia & trying to embrace plant-based versions of my comfort foods, I appreciate that this vegan restaurant doesn't shy away from spice or bold flavors. Highly recommend vegetarians & omnivores to give this place a try!!
Came here to try one the lunch specials! The portion of dumplings was small but delicious, & the hibiscus water was too sweet for my liking, but the banh mi 93 was the star of the show! They use a delicious seitan "duck" meat & a nice fresh baguette. I left feeling very full! Next time I'd come back for just the banh mi & to try some of the other menu items, all of which are vegan. The restaurant itself was so cute & well located. Very friendly & quick service.
We ordered delivery from them & they were the absolute sweetest! The food was so tasty, we got the papaya salad which was spicy & flavourful & the duck banh mi which was huge & well worth the money, it hit the spot perfectly! Our uber driver was a menace (which was not their fault at all!) & they were very communicative & kind while we sorted it out, & even sent a little extra our way 🥹 Can't wait to visit their location & eat it again 🥰
Mango sticky rice is outstanding & reminded me of my trip in Thailand. I would come back just for that. With that said, the rest of the food was also very good. The brussel sprouts were very nice, although a little too salty. The green curry & vegan duck penang were good too. The waitress was very attentive & helpful! Small terasse to eat outside was a bonus.
What a lovely, family run restaurant! I'm a BIG Chuchai fan so I was happy to try Chai-yo. The food was great - spicier than ChuChai for adventurous palates. We went for a quick dinner & had the Ped Yang Panang (vegan duck) which was sooo good! Also had the green papaya salad & it was spicy & flavorful! The dumplings with peanut sauce are similar to Chuchai's but have their own spin with a chili oil drizzle. Couldn't get enough of the Thai iced coffee!

Delicious food & great staff! We had the vegan duck sandwich, the spring rolls, the green curry noodles, the pad see ew, the pad Thai & the vegan duck noodle soup.
Absolutely Vegan Deliciousness 😋 Sweet family run business. Emily & her mother are so nice & put out the most delicious 😋 Vegan food out there. I had the Vegan Duck Soup, Absolutely Delicious 😋. I can't say delicious 😋 enough, & it was absolutely worth the trip from the West-Island.
The place to stop for mouth-watering noodle soup, scrumptious red & green curries, delectable duck & paté sandwiches on divine baguettes, & Thai iced tea, right next to Carré Saint-Louis. You will love this place, whether you are vegan or not.
The noodle soup with crispy duck is the best soup I ever had! Sandwich Chai-Yo tasted great & the Thai iced tea was refreshing. I will definitely come back!
