Le Céramic Café-Studio, une franchise unique! Un studio de peinture sur céramique, un café-restaurant ainsi qu'une boutique, tout dans un même lieu. Depuis son ouverture en 1997, on se donne rendez-vous au Céramic Café-Studio. Que l'on soit artiste débutant ou peintre accompli, seul, en famille ou entre amis, on peut venir y peindre des céramiques originales, personnalisées et pratiques au quotidien. Les réputés paninis y sont fameux, les smoothies délicieux et les cafés réconfortants. Le Céramic Café de la rue St-Denis à Montréal est le premier Céramic Café qui a ouvert au Québec, en 1997. Depuis 2007 il est au 4338 rue St-Denis, angle Marie-Anne près du métro Mont-Royal. Auparavant il était de l'autre côté de la rue au 4201 rue St-Denis, au coin de la rue Rachel. Les propriétaires et créateurs du concept, Paola Cacopardo et Gilles Geoffrion, sont les franchiseurs des quatre Céramic Café. Ce Céramic café de Montréal est disposé sur 2 étages et il peut accueillir jusqu'à 100 personnes. L'équipe du Céramic Café de Montréal se déplace aussi loin qu'a Gatineau afin d'offrir l'activité de peinture sur céramique à des groupes tels que les écoles et services de garde, les camps d'été, les partys de bureau, les showers, les fêtes d'enfants et autres occasions. Dans l'ensemble, Céramic Café propose une expérience artisanale et conviviale où l'on peut choisir parmi un vaste choix de céramiques, de couleurs et de matériel, puis peindre sur place tout en dégustant café et collations; l'activité est relaxante et adaptée pour un rendez-vous, une sortie en famille ou entre amis, avec la possibilité de passer plusieurs heures. Cependant les avis varient sur le service: certains saluent la gentillesse et l'accompagnement du personnel, d'autres signalent des attitudes peu aimables et un service parfois insuffisant ou inconstant. Le coût est raisonnable mais peut sembler élevé selon le modèle et les heures passées, et des frais de service ou de pourboire peuvent surprendre. Des retours de pièces avec des traces, des éclats ou un vernis abîmé et un délai d'attente pour récupérer les pièces cuites (environ une semaine) sont évoqués; le rendu final peut aussi décevoir lorsque la pièce présente des défauts visibles. L'endroit est apprécié pour son ambiance créative et sa capacité à accueillir familles et groupes, même si la qualité et la rapidité du café et de la restauration varient. En somme, l'expérience vaut pour l'originalité et le plaisir de créer, malgré des déceptions possibles sur le plan technique ou logistique et des différences d'expérience selon les visites.
Such a fun activity! You begin by choosing a pottery item & the selection is huge! There is so much to paint varying in sizes, prices, utilities! After that you can pick your paint colours & there is a helpful chart showing you what the colours will look like once your product is glazed. There is also lots of helpful information on painting technique & style. Once you settle in with all of that, you can order drinks & food & it is the most enjoyable way to spend an afternoon or evening. I highly recommend & it's a surprise when you go back a week later to pick up your creation! You pay by the hour & per item.

The only criticism: the lighting is not appropriate. Pendant lights above the tables would give direct lighting on the painting experience, thus making it easier to apply details.
Very disappointed. Had gone to Ceramic Cafe a couple times before & never had these issues, maybe the waitress who took our table was new & didn’t know better, but 1) they made us pay for a ceramic that I picked out at the beginning but didn’t touch at all (previously they just wouldn’t charge you for it - & actually a few days later when I did the same with other friends this wasn’t an issue somehow: I had picked out 3 things, only painted 2, so they took off the 3rd item from the paper as they should). 2) the item I did paint, I got back chipped in multiple places, with the paint being see through in spots I know I went over 3 times. Maybe there was an accident & they dropped it, maybe the person handling it was a bit of a clutz, either way they should have disclosed the faults & given a refund. This is not the service & quality I expect. I feel scammed.
We had a great time at the Ceramic Cafe in Montreal! The staff were very friendly & helpful in explaining the process. The food & drinks are quite good. Lots of different pieces to pick from to paint. Lots of room & products for variously sized groups of all ages.
I went with my husband to celebrate our first anniversary & his birthday too. We had a lot of fun choosing what to paint, the design & the experience in general is interesting & it's a great moment to share in couple or with friends too. The staff was nice & the food was good too. I loved it & my husband enjoyed it like a kid.
My granddaughter & I had a wonderful visit at the Ceramic Café. Considering COVID we had a perfect seat in an area by ourselves. All the staff are very helpful & friendly. The coffee & food is delicious. There is a wide selection of objects to paint & hundreds of colours to come up with an exciting creation.
Very fun activity with friends. Would recommend planning to stay for 3 hours because you get carried away with painting for hours! The student evenings are great since you don't have to worry about the length of stay affecting your bill. Will definitely return!
The staff were very polite, helpful & kind. My daughter & her 2 friends had a great time picking out their ceramics & painting them. Overall a lovely way to spend a few hours, especially on a cold winter day. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon -- it was the highlight of my daughter's birthday! One important note: It is a bit pricey -- so I suggest budgeting for this activity.
Really fun! You get to try all sorts of painting techniques. I haven't painted in years & it was fun to try random things out. A little disheartening to see all the masters paint lol
Really friendly service even when it's really busy
I had a really great time with my friend & found that the overall concept of the place was simply genius. I would see myself coming back to either paint w/ a friend or after having a mental breakdown because the experience was very relaxing haha. It's only missing one star because some of the staff lacked professionalism & was rude. I waited 30 mins for a panini that frankly takes maximum of 10 mins to make.

Very fun activity to do in a group! It can be slightly costly, but they provide all the paints & materials to work with. There's a student discount from Mon-Thur after 5pm.
Good variety of ceramics to choose from too.

Great place! It's relaxing, fun, & the atmosphere is pretty calm, even when it's packed. The staff leave you to your devices so you can paint without stress, & the prices are pretty reasonable. Honestly, definitely a great place for a date or a hangout with friends. I definitely plan on going back!
