Fries were phenomenal. I loved it all. The decor is really cool & unique. Music is great there. It exceeded my expectations. They sell smashburgers here, not burgers. There is a difference . Will come again if ever I'm in the area. Which I am rarely. Would be nice if they had another location in Laval. I foresee that happening in the future anyway.
Man, did I want to LOVE this smash burger. It's been on my burger radar for a year. The basement was jamming, smoke filled the air & solid 30min wait before consumption, which is no biggie for burger magic. The decor & drink selection are impeccable & expertly thought-out. Staff is friendly. The fries, one of the best in the city, no doubt. Fresh, perfectly salted & go down like water. It's the burger, the star of the show, that left me wanting, almost needing more. More sauce, more juiciness, just something more. It was a very good burger, priced beyond fairly for value but it didn't live up to the immense hype, for a burger aficionado like myself.
I have to say, this is one of the best burgers I have had in a while ! It's a small place, in the basement level, with limited indoor counter seating, an a few picknick tables outside... They have a limited menu... But don't let that deter you from giving this very casual & friendly place a try. The smash burger are awesome!
MDMH has one really solid smash burger, & even better fries. A hip atmosphere, wide selection of beverages, & great service make this place highly recommendable. While I wish it was more central within Montreal & not out of the way, I otherwise cannot complain about this establishment. So good that I had to buy some merch. Looking forward to my next visit very soon!
My Wife & I have been dying to try this place. I love Smashburger My Wife loves Poutine. We have been dying to try this place & today. We made a huge detour as we were in Montreal to go give it a try. It's very difficult to review this place. The ambulance is incredible. The service incredible the food.... i'm sorry I hate to say it, but it's average at best. Yes I get it. A Smashburger is a Smashburger but you still need to retain some kind of meaty juiciness. You can't have two paperthin what you call patties in that burger. The meat to ratio is way off. You would have to put at least four or five patties into that burger to attain a 50-50 meat ratio to bun. Their "special sauce" is nothing special at all. It seems to be ketchup, mustard, & relish, all mixed together, maybe with a pinch of this & that, but really, it's nothing special. We wanted to like this place, it's literally been months probably over a year since we have been talking about going to this place, When we get there, it is average best. The concept is great. The ambiance is incredible. It's got a really laid-back hip-hop. Kind of vibe, they have a rolling papers that you can buy at the cash. They're not bad, run-of-the-mill kind of brown paper, recycled, kind of thing, but they are labelled with their business, which was kind of cool, & for only four dollars it was a no-brainer. So, poutine & burger, average, ambience, staff, professionalism, everything else, including the rolling papers was pretty amazing. Then again, it might be just me please give it a shot & make up your own mind. Maybe My Wife & I are just not the target audience/clientele.
The best Smashburger in town, bar none. The beef is fresh & well-seasoned, the toppings, sauce, potato buns give it all a nice balance of flavours. Their fries are hand-cut, just a tiny bit thinner than your traditional diner cuts, they hold their housemade poutine sauce very well, the cheese curds are fresh as well. It gets busy around the usual time, but the service is reasonably quick. There are two short sets of stairs, so disability access is limited, however they will accommodate to your needs if you order for pickup & let them know! All-in-all, the everything on the menu is delicious & the people running the joint are incredible!
An absolute must try!! They have one of the best smash burgers in the city. They got a great theme going on, the employees are pleasant to deal with. Been there over 5 times already - definitely one of my go-to spots for some delicious food. Make sure to try their loaded fries, you won't regret itz Highly recommend

Really cool hidden gem in front of the Jean-Talon hospital. I got a cali burger with a poutine & a drink. The burger is smash style. It was delicious although on the smaller side. The poutine was really tasty & a generous portion. The food is a bit pricey but worth a try. The service was great & the atmosphere was really cool.
Disclaimer! Depends who's reading this: This spot gets 5 stars because of the concept, people & vibe- great spot for a great burger in Montreal. Can't deny that. This is where the disclaimer comes in. If you consider yourself a smash burger connoisseur or have eaten at many smash burger spots outside of Montreal then this burger won't really compare. Flavour isn't at the same level (specifically meat taste) & the harmonious experience of the smash burger doesn't feel as much aligned. All that to be said is all my friends love it here & my partner who has never experienced a smash burger before loved it! So again just depends on your experience!
If you like smash burgers you will love this place. Poutine & dirty fries are excellent as well. Hits the spot every time.

Burgers that have truly been smashed by a true master of the burger smash. Definitely smashed (smashed) by a burger smasher. Next time I go will get a smashed burger. This time only had fries (not smashed).

Overall disappointing experience. As fans of the new & old La Belle Tonki, we were looking forward to trying their smash burger joint. We arrived here around 6:30pm & there was already a lineup to order & most of the seats were taken. However, few people were eating. The good: you get the sense that much care & effort was put into the decor & marketing of the place. The walls are covered in cool posters (great conversation starters), the music was fun & the marketing/branding is well thought out. The food itself (once we got it) was delicious, prepared with care, presented nicely. Everything you would expect from a smash burger & fries, but extra. The menu is short & concise. Dirty fries were so good. The bad: the restaurant is located in a small semi basement & only counter/bar stools are available. This would not normally be a problem for a quick eats kind of place. However, after waiting 15 mins to order, we waited another 30 mins to actually receive the food. This wait time seems excessive for 2 burgers & 2 poutines. Finally, the ventilation should be improved because we left the place REEKING of oil. I'm not sure if we came on a off day for this resto but I feel like it is a victim of its success & cannot keep up with current demands. I would recommend trying the food as it was pretty good but don't come here hungry or in a rush.
