Though 1 & a half month passed & I have already left Montreal, I still need to inform every customer, because that's very dishonest & disappointing. Please, the owner, Mr. Jose, be responsible for your words!

We visited this restaurant as a family of 3 adults & 1 child. We already ordered 12 small fried snacks & an octopus appetizer. But a tall, balding young waiter pressured us heavily to order 4 seafood rice. We hesitated, but he lied to us & said,'The rice is separate.' He made us think they were small individual bowls.
When the food came, we were shocked. One portion of rice was a massive metal tray for TWO people! (Our receipt clearly shows'2P'). They knew we only had 3 adults, but they forced us to buy food for 8 people! Because of this lie, we paid over $110 extra. The food was so heavy, like a large huge brick, & we could not finish it at all (see picture 1 for my hand comparison).

We have 3 adults & 1 child. They pushed us to order 4 portions, knowing that each portion is meant for 2 people. They tried to sell 8 people's worth of food to a small family. This is not a mistake; it is a calculated scam.

At the end, the old man with a raspy voice (Mr. Jose Manuel on the receipt) gave us a free dessert because he felt guilty. But after payment, he directly asked us:'No tips?' When we refused to tip, his face instantly turned, & he walked away with a terrible attitude.

The food is ok, but the owner & his staff are very dishonest. They use bad word games to scam tourists. If you want to go, please ONLY order HALF of what they tell you. Do not be a fool like us!

Notre plat était vraiment trop salé & l'endroit est très bruyant. Évidemment, cela dépend des clients qui s'y trouvaient qui parlaient très fort. Le service était bien.

Joe was fabulous. Helped my group of four (none of whom had ever eaten in a Portuguese restaurant) with wine & dinner selections. Fantastic service. Thanks so much from some Vancouverites (plus an ex-Montrealer).

One of the worst service I have ever gotten. We were a group of 4 & arrived at 7pm. We ordered at 7h30pm & our food only arrived at 8h45pm. We waited over an hour for food absolutely drenched in oil. A friend of mine was not only cut off while he was ordering his food (wanted to order wine but waiter cut him off & went off) but also found metal shreds in his plate after all that wait. The service was the worst part of this experience. I really wanted to like the place given the nice atmosphere. We had to call the waiter every time to either refill bread or give us an update on the orders while we watched him take good care of other tables he seemed acquainted with. & good luck getting him to come to your table! He will see you but wont come to your table. We felt completely left on the side. When we asked to complain to the manager : our waiter was apparently the manager... & he was absolutely unapologetic. Took plates away without asking if we were done (one of us was not) & did not apologize when his service was criticised. Terrible.

Best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal by far. Owners create an awesome experience & dishes are typical of the north & are prepared by a master chef.
