Casa Galicia has been a staple of Spanish cuisine in Montreal since 1977. Founded by Laurentino Oliveira and still proudly family-run, the tradition continues today with Jorge Oliveira and David Oliveira at the helm.
Recognized as one of the best Spanish restaurants in North America, Casa Galicia specializes in authentic Galician cuisine, offering classic dishes like paella, zarzuela, and a variety of regional specialties. Guests can pair their meals with a refreshing pitcher of sangria considered among the best in Montreal, or explore the restaurant’s unique wine cellar, featuring reserve wines from Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and distinctive décor make every visit memorable. On weekends, the experience is elevated with live flamenco performances, including a professional Spanish guitarist, bringing a touch of Spain’s vibrant culture to the heart of the city.
Casa Galicia stands out as a welcoming spot with generous portions, flavorful seafood and paella, friendly service, and a warm authentic Spanish ambiance, enhanced by lively flamenco on select nights and a memorable overall experience that makes guests want to return.
Convenient location (on Rue St-Denis near Theatre St-Denis); easy to reserve online or by phone; clean; quiet (but there is regular live Flamenco music later on some evenings - we were there on a Sunday); nice atmosphere; warm reception; good Spanish (Catalonian) menu (paella, fish, seafood, tapas etc.), & well stocked European wine & spirits list; drinks & food were served quickly with good presentation; very good price/quality; recommend.
It was fresh & tasty. For those that never tried the real Spanish food is good. It's a tad off for those who have been in Spain. Not disappointed. Good tout court

Absolutely loved this place! The food was authentic, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The paella was rich & perfectly cooked, & the tapas were amazing for sharing. The atmosphere felt warm & lively, with great music & cozy Spanish vibes. Staff were friendly, attentive, & made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best Spanish restaurants I've tried - highly recommend for date nights or dinners with friends! We were served by Firo
Great place with real Spanish house atmosphere, food was extremely delicious, we ordered lobster bisque, paella & seafood stew - portions were really big!service is great! Highly recommend
Very quaint Spanish restaurant with amazing service & vibrant atmosphere. The servers are fantastic. Food options are amazing. Definitely recommend the steak.
Casa Galicia nails the cozy, casual, family-style spanish food was always meant to be experienced. The ambience turns bottles of wine into heartfelt toasts & the tapas will make you wish everyone joining your table would do so forever.
May more people get to create wonderful memories here. As for me, my wife's 30th birthday here will be, for the time being, a tough one to beat.... Olé!
The Spanish ambiance was so beautiful & romantic. The server was very authentic & kind, & the food delicious! It is a little pricey but with everything put together it's well worth it. Just wish we got to stay for the Flamenco show. Will definitely be back!
Excellent Spanish food, friendly & helpful staff, great atmosphere, best gaspacho & paella I had in Montreal, large portion & resonable prices, highest recommendations, we will go again!

I enjoyed my food & the amazing service at this restaurant. It had a cute Spanish vibe & brought me to Spain from Montreal. We had lobster bisque for our starter that was very creamy & delicious came with garlic bread which was a bit too crunchy. For main we had steak & paella which were so delicious. & as a dessert we had something like crème brûlée which tasted differently but ok. Something that I really loved about this place was the waiter who was very gentleman & respectful. He took care of us very well. I'd go back there again😊😊
I had a wonderful experience at Casa Galicia! The atmosphere was cozy & full of character - you could really feel the warmth of Spanish culture all around. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, & full of authentic flavor.
What truly made the evening special was our server. I wish I remembered his name, but he was absolutely amazing - friendly, professional, & full of passion when explaining the dishes & their history. He made us feel at home from the moment we sat down.
It's rare to find that level of attention & genuine hospitality these days. I'll definitely be coming back & recommending this place to friends. A beautiful experience from start to finish. 💫
Casa Galicia stands out as a top choice for Spanish cuisine in Montreal, delivering vibrant flavors , friendly hospitality & value. Definitely were coming back to explore more tapas & try different Paella.

We were celebrating a significant birthday for our son on the day of St. Fermin - That's the day the running of the bulls start in Pamplona, Spain. Walking into Casa Galicia felt like walking into a classic restaurant in Spain, except the service was a lot faster ;-)
Sadly, we didn't ask his name, but the server was a wonderful man. He spoke French, Spanish English, & likely another language or two & flowed between them as necessary. He made us laugh & didn't miss a detail. It seemed like he was born to care for clients.
We enjoyed every bite of food & a fantastic sangria.
It was a special trip to Spain, right in heart of Montreal! Thank you!!!
This was an amazing place. The waiter was very cordial & served the food always with a nice comment & jokes. He made sure the ladies felt well attended & gave us a small'gift from his place of origin'. When we heard we were celebrating my son's b-day he came out with a piece of cake & spoons for everyone. Very attentive service, amazing food & very original Spanish atmosphere. Love the place & we will go back when go are in Montreal again!!!
A+ for me !
I have to say, having been to Spain, our passage at the Casa Galicia was by far the closest Spanish experience we can get here in Montreal.
Everything was on point : The food, the ambiance, cleanliness & especially Firo & ley who served us with so much heart.
On top of the great food & culture, the people who served us are the reason why we will surely come back.
