The set menu was fantastic, with a few delightful surprises along the way. My personal highlight was the asparagus starter, which is enjoyed by hand - a fun & unique experience. The wine pairing was also excellent, featuring some great local selections. You can really tell the staff love what they do, which made the evening even more enjoyable.View more

Pre fixe menu with limited choice. We went as a couple in June 2025. All local ingredients from Quebec & we had the wine pairing. Very interesting wines & really pleasant staff. The outdoor seating was lovely. Location is in the middle of a park & half of a church, so a little difficult to find.View more

Candide is an absolutely amazing restaurant!! It's a local gem, with an emphasis on farm to table cuisine. The vibe is relaxed & casual & the quality of the food is top notch. I had the lamb leg with cucumber & yogurt for my main, & it was honestly one of the best food combos I've ever had!! The service is also excellent - all of the servers we interacted with were extremely friendly. I would go back to Candide in a heartbeat!View more

Revised for 2024: We ate outside. Staff is as friendly & knowledgeable as in 2019. Local ingredients & dishes as yummy. We ate outside & it was perfect. Still a great evening & well worth the time & expense. In the best of all possible worlds, you get to eat here. I can remember the flavor & texture of each course: a perfect scallop, in cream, with pepper & flowers. Brussels sprouts with apples & mint. Hen of the woods with roasted turnips & radishes. Sea bass with a tomato & edamame sauce. (My companion had a pheasant.) Lemongrass ice cream over crunchy wheat & a not-so-sweet maple cake & a pear compote. & the wine pairing was fabulous. Go for: a roller-coaster culinary experience with local produce & game meat that you didn't think was possible to have. Avoid if: you're going out for dinner on a budget. Something surprising: sitting at the bar was the right choice, with direct service & descriptions from the chefs & lots of conversation with the rest of the staff. Reservation needed? Yes, highly recommended Overall Experience: 5/5. Each course on the menu was surprisingly delicious, the wine pairings were truly unique & actually made sense when consumed with the food, & the entire staff was engaging, knowledgeable, & a lot of fun. ou vous pouvez vous presser d'y aller, pendant qu'il n'y a encore que quelques «foodies» inconditionnels dans la salle à manger.
L'atmosphère y est magique. On a la chance d'être témoins de grand art: un travail précis, attentionné, passionné, livré de manière sincère, honnête, sans justifications, & à prix vraiment abordable.
Une seule exigence de notre part: ouvrir ses papilles pour en savourer toutes les subtilités.
