Not only was there already a lively crowd outside but a lineup inside as well. The service was super quick & efficient, but still friendly & warm. Coffee was excellent. This place is what every cafe should be.
My friend Zach brought me here once, & now I'm addicted there isn't a spot in NYC that compares to San Simeons. Their coffee is 10/10 every morning in Montreal I had to run over to them to get a cup. The guys behind the counter are always friendly, & are always up for a chat while your coffee is being made I never felt awkward waiting for my coffee like other places!
Je I don't speak French but I wanted to show my mate a good coffee spot so I came here for le Grand Prix Du Canada & le café was absolutely fire & while I was here I'm 99% sure I saw a racing driver who led the Indy 500 under full course yellow Zachary De Melo so this place must be ELITE.
if you are looking for a beautiful, sunlit cafe with a fantastic community vibe, this is a must-visit. the pastries are baked fresh daily, & their pour-over options show they really care about the craft of coffee. it can get incredibly packed & lively during mid-morning rush, making it tough to grab a table right away
very good coffee & pastries. the vibe is great always buzzing . please note it is cash only.
Montreal's Little Italy has no shortage of charming cafés, but this spot has truly earned its reputation as a neighborhood institution. Stepping inside feels like stepping back in time: the décor is unpretentious, the atmosphere is lively yet laid-back, & there's always a hum of conversation in the air - from old friends catching up over espresso to students quietly working with their notebooks.
The coffee is exactly what you'd hope for: strong, smooth, & consistently excellent. Whether you're sipping a classic espresso, a perfectly foamed cappuccino, or just a simple café allongé, you can taste the tradition & pride in every cup. The pastries & light bites, while secondary to the coffee itself, are always fresh & make the perfect complement.
What makes this place so special is the sense of community. Regulars are greeted by name, tourists are welcomed warmly, & you quickly realize this café is more than just a spot to grab a drink - it's a meeting point, a living room for the neighborhood, & a cultural landmark that has been woven into the daily rhythm of Little Italy for decades.
If you want a taste of Montreal's authentic café culture, this is the place. Don't expect flashy décor or Instagram gimmicks - come here for the real thing: exceptional coffee, rich history, & the unique vibe of a true Montreal classic.
Lovely coffee shop. My espresso was excellent (& served in the traditional way). The staff was friendly & treated me just like a regular. The coffee is at least as good--if not better--than the many other nearby options.
