Sunday brunch, Italian edition 🇮🇹🍕☕?
Three slices, one cappuccino, & four self-declared travel experts planning their third'once-in-a-lifetime' trip to Italy. 😏
Great service all day long.
Roman style square pizza with a great variety of fresh toppings. I love the thinly sliced potato topped slabs.
The lemon-basil Gelato is particularly refreshing.
Pistachio bomboloni is delish & decadent.
I've visited Café San Gennaro twice now, & both times were delightful experiences. Their pizza was tasty, but the real standout was their cannolis (the shell was perfectly crisp, while the filling was smooth, creamy, & just the right level of sweetness). All the flavors balanced beautifully, making it one of the best cannolis I've had.
The latte was also well made, & overall, the prices felt fair for the quality you get. The only downside is that seating can be limited, especially during peak hours, so timing your visit matters.
What really adds to the experience is the friendly & welcoming staff, who make you feel right at home. If you're looking for a cozy café with great Italian treats, Café San Gennaro is definitely worth a visit!
They need to update the menu on their wall. Even their staff is confused by the pricing of the items. It wasn't fun to be charged more than what I expected. I was told that I still had to pay for the drink in full or have something at the price I expected to pay, even though it was already made, & they could have the drink themselves. It's not a huge deal, but it comes off as disorganized.
