About

Café Olimpico operates as a quintessential Italian-style espresso bar focusing on the art of traditional coffee preparation and authentic confectionery items. Patrons select from an extensive menu of expertly pulled shots, including signature lattes and robust double espressos, crafted with precise brewing techniques. The interior layout prioritizes a fast-paced, standing-room culture reminiscent of bustling European cafes that demand efficiency and high-quality ingredients. Glass display cases showcase a rotating selection of handmade cannoli, biscotti, and assorted pastries that pair directly with the dark-roast coffee profiles. The environment centers on the sensory experience of freshly ground beans and the tactile nature of classic ceramic serveware. This establishment maintains a rigid commitment to its heritage by delivering consistent, bold beverage standards that define the local coffee culture for dedicated enthusiasts.

Review Summary

Café Olimpico is widely celebrated as a quintessential Montreal institution, cherished for its authentic European atmosphere and consistently high-quality Italian coffee, including standouts like the caffe crema, affogato, and perfectly pulled espresso. Guests frequently praise the warm, professional, and energetic service provided by the staff, who manage busy, high-traffic periods with efficiency and charm. While the space is often described as cozy and intimate with limited seating, the lively vibe and historic aesthetic make it a must-visit destination. Although a few visitors have noted that portions are small, prices are premium, or queues can be long, the majority of reviewers agree that the exceptional tiramisu, fresh pastries, and genuine Italian experience make it an unforgettable part of any trip to Old Montreal.

The atmosphere, location, & ambience of this place really makes you happy when you enter. & then you get to experience their absolutely mouth watering food. We tried their Tiramisu (the best I have ever had), Heavenly Taste, Biscotti, Bombodini, coffee, & hot chocolate. All of which was excellent!

I love this place it's my favourite coffee shop in old Montreal but today I got very disappointed. I purchased a small "remix" coffee & a small mortadella sandwich & it costs me $22 without tips. Prices have gotten Very expensive!

Always come here for the amazing vibes from all the staff & for the best coffee in town. (You must try their pistachio affogato). Creative spot & playlist is always on point. Special thanks to Sean & Julien for their consistent outstanding energy!

I love this small café in an old building. There is exposed brick. Decorations are old pictures of Italian moments. There are about 7 tables, if you don't like being too close to people, you are better ordering out. The guys at the counter were super nice & friendly. I had a foccacia sandwich with mortadella & some honey sauce. It was delicious!! I'm not a big fan of mortadella, but this one was so good. Cappuccino was great, too ( good grade coffee).
