Review Summary

Café Nocturne is generally regarded as a cozy, welcoming spot that offers high-quality, flavorful coffee and a variety of delicious pastries, particularly croissants and scones. Many visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere, which makes it a popular destination for working, studying, or socializing, though this popularity can occasionally lead to crowded seating and slow service. While most patrons describe the staff as friendly and supportive of the local community, some experiences reflect inconsistencies in service speed, temperature comfort, and noise levels. Despite mixed opinions regarding its suitability as a study space and occasional reports of lackluster customer service, the consensus highlights the establishment as a charming local fixture with excellent beverages that is worth visiting.

Not sure of her name but the girl with the glasses & curly longer hair is always unnecessarily rude (not to be confused with a quieter girl without glass & curly hair, she's very sweet this review is nothing against her). I live nearby so I come in often & did like it a lot (the other baristas are all friendly & the coffee is good) but my interactions with said barista are always unpleasant & awkward to a point where I think management should be aware. I have even come in with friends & they brought up the same issue. For clarity on the exact issue, she is never smiling or welcoming, she is cold & aloof - usually barely even greets you. She has an attitude & even talks back when you ask a question. I have been a barista myself & am understanding, sometimes you are having a bad day or you are drained BUT this has been MANY times now, in fact everytime she is working this occurs. Now I honestly don't go in if I see she's working unless I want to just quickly grad something & have the energy to just ignore her demeanor.

Small but inviting, their latte is dreamy & creamy.

Back in Montreal & this place is still an absolute gem. It's small & crowded but still very friendly. As of now (July 2024) they're sourcing coffee from Balance Torréfacteur, which I've discovered is a superb roaster & it's local (to Montreal). I got a cortado, & it was perfection. Taste, body, temperature, proper volume too. It doesn't get better.

i absolutely adore this cafe. so cute, good coffee & amazing croissants. i think it was the largest croissant I've eaten that was actually good. it's in the perfect area close to campus & entering on the plateau. come here for your morning pastry & coffee before walking around the plateau or to mount royal on the weekends. can also work from here on week days being that it's close to campus.

Très souvent une seule personne vous préparer le café le matin, donc parfois une longue file d'attente. Le capuccino n'en est pas un, c'est un café latté, il n'y a pratiquement pas mousse de lait.

The barista with dark hair & glasses has an attitude problem. She was rude. I have never seen a barista treat her customers this way. They usually are friendly & simley. Bummer the place has good coffee but her hostile attitude is a turn off

Since moving to the Plateau, this has become my favourite go to place for coffee. I usually come in with my dog & sometimes several times a day to grab a coffee & one of their delicious pastries. I'm always greeted with a smile & feel at home everytime I come. Such a great staff (past & present) but don't know everyone by name to give them the praise they deserve, shout out to Frank & Teomi for being there since I first started coming & always happy to see me & my little dog. Keep up the great work Andre & your great team. 🙏 Hopefully I can convince you to open where I'll be moving lol
