This used to be our favourite place in the city. Their food menu was amazing, & the coffee was good. A few months ago they decided to reduce the staff & stopped making any food except baked goods. The cookies are good, but we were bagel people. Service got noticeably slow too. Seems like the owners are trying to cut costs, & honestly we just started going somewhere else to get a proper breakfast.View more

I've been coming here for years but the last time I popped in I was "greeted" (that's generous) by the coldest person informing me that there's barely anything left of the menu I've become accustomed to. Amazing study spot with literally the BEST cookies. Honestly... the cookie blew me away. The white chocolate nut cookie is the best, IMO (but very very sweet). We recalled this coffee shop as we visited during Covid. As we remember, it’s a small coffee shop located on the street corner with little seating places inside. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious & the service was good. Finding parking in this area can be challenging, Street parking is free until 1 o’clock on Sundays. Otherwise you need to pay.View more

The barista was very snobby with me as I took a minute to think about my order. It was 9:30am on a Wednesday & I was the only customer in the place, so I don't understand the rush. I said to have a nice day as I left & received no response. Coffee was okay.

Well, I am glad the other person had courteous service. I lived up the street from this cafe when it first opened about 5 years ago, & was delighted it had come to the neighbourhood. Never in my life, have I been treated (mostly by the original co-owner) with such snootiness in all my years of travel to Paris, London, Singapore, etc.
At the time, their water/hydro was not hooked up & they were making & serving bodum coffee. Even though I came every day to support them, I was never treated to a smile, or more than the most minimal conversation. When I returned with friends from out of town, I saw little had changed. Just more hipsters/ students with computers. Coffee fine, but a bit acidic & the milk was too hot, too. I can't stand this place, so maybe I am biased, but my friend's pastry was not great either, particularly for the price. Tea ok, though.
