Cafe Milano is widely regarded as a standout destination in the West Island, celebrated for its authentic espresso, high-quality coffee, and an extensive menu of delicious Italian-inspired sandwiches and decadent pastries. The atmosphere is consistently described as lively, trendy, and bustling, making it a popular spot for social gatherings, quick lunches, or casual meetings. While many patrons praise the friendly service and the quality of the food, others note that the high volume of customers during peak hours can lead to noise and a chaotic ordering process that relies on calling out names. Although experiences with service speed and consistency vary, the majority of visitors highlight the establishment as a reliable, cozy, and vibrant hub for excellent treats and a genuine taste of Italy.
Great latte & espresso, tasty cannoli, but one of the servers might be somehow ignorant.
A week ago, we went there before our hiking trip because one of my friends is a coffee snob.
The young cashier or barista was friendly to certain customers but not so much to the others. We were the unlucky ones. We said to dine in & sat outside, & we waited at the counter to retrieve drinks & foods ourselves. Quickly, we found out that there were servers who would bring drinks outside. Why not tell us then? The door is heavy, one hand we needed to carry the foods; the other hand we need to hold our drink. Later I saw the cashier came out & handed drinks herself to another group of customers. Other servers handed drinks to other tables as well.
Nevertheless, the barista who actually makes the drinks, & another guy at the counter were friendly.
Great discovery. Italian pastries & desserts were delicious! We were three friends. Moccacino was great, latte was nice, cappuccino was so so. Service was super friendly & kind. The setting was fine but noisy. I recommend this place to meet with family, friends or even work a bit on your laptop (with headphones).

Uber ordered at 1am & very hungry. The veggie sub & poutine were marvellous. However, someone didn't pay attention at the deep fryer because the onion rings & canollis were almost burnt. Very disappointing & almost inedible.
Was very dissatisfied to get my latte in a 1$ beer glass. The milk was also steamed more like a cappuccino than a proper latte. I cannot rate higher when the store does not provide with proper cups or train baristas. I think 3 stars is high for a Cafe serving like this. But the croissant was done well, so maybe this place focuses more on food than coffee. As far as a coffee shop atmosphere. Seemed more like a big restaurant looking to seat big numbers rather than a comfy or cool coffee shop.
We've visited Milano Café several times, & it has quickly become one of our favorite spots in the West Island. It's a charming café with a fantastic variety of sweet & savory options - everything from pastries to light bites, all beautifully prepared & absolutely delicious.
The coffee is excellent, always fresh & flavorful, & the atmosphere is warm & inviting. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy something tasty, & feel completely comfortable.
The service is consistently good as well. Staff members are friendly, attentive, & make you feel welcome every time you walk in.
We genuinely enjoy coming here & highly recommend Milano Café to anyone looking for a cozy, delicious, & reliable spot in the West Island.
We went there at around 10:30 pm for dessert & coffee. The cannoli were excellent. The filling was rich & creamy, without being heavy. It was very tasty, not too sweet, with a perfectly textured shell. Unfortunately, the coffee drinks were not good, which is very disappointing for a coffee shop. The espresso macchiato was not done properly. There was no dollop of milk foam on top. Instead, it was more of a splash of warm milk. My friend asked if there was iced cappuccino on the menu. They said there wasn't, & that the only iced drink was iced latté. So he got that, but it was not a latté. There was not enough milk in it to be latté. It was more of a slush & was very very sweet. It was not good at all. Probably will not return.
