Café L'Étincelle is, first and foremost, the story of Rémy and Benjamin — two passionate, hardworking, and complementary brothers who, on February 10, 2016, took over a small corner café on the lesser-loved stretch of Beaubien East, at the corner of De Bordeaux, between Papineau and De Lorimier.

It didn’t take long for the locals to discover them, and soon a vibrant, supportive community grew around the café. Every employee became part of this tight-knit family, bringing their own warmth and unique personality to the adventure.

At the end of their first year, it was the customers who surprised the owners with a birthday celebration — flower garlands, kind notes, and heartfelt thanks. That’s when L’Étincelle truly began to shine.

In just two years, Le Café L’Étincelle had become a beloved fixture in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and beyond, affectionately known as “L’Étincelle,” “the café of the two brothers,” “Chez les frangins,” or simply “the neighborhood café.”

A year later, their father Patrice joined the team, bringing even more expertise and expanding the range of homemade offerings with caramels, Breton crêpes, and creative pastries...

Honestly, the best café in the neighborhood. It's always a pleasure going there. Owners & staff are very nice. Great coffee & baked goods with Breton flavours.
I never know where to go when they close on Mondays.

Recommendations: If you have a sweet tooth, try the mocha, the Breton latte, made with their homemade caramel, & any of the cakes of the moment.

(P.S. for the owners: Please bring back the old matcha 😆)
