One of the best hidden gems in MTL. Delicious food, good drinks. Best to get at least two onigiri to be satisfied. The filter coffee is the best cup of black coffee in the city, in my humble opinion. Gorgeous interior & good music playing most of the time. Nice natural light. Just overall lovely spot to visit.
This coffee shop specializes in onigiri, & the atmosphere is definitely a strong point. It's stylish, cozy, & well thought out - the coin-covered floor is a standout detail & very cool.
As for the food, it's average. For the same price, you can find onigiri at a kiosk near McGill that may not have the same hype or aesthetic, but offers more flavor & much more generous fillings.
I tried three onigiri: breaded chicken, egg, & tuna with mayonnaise. The breaded chicken was my favorite, followed by the tuna. The egg one came last for me.
I'd recommend trying it at least once, especially if you appreciate a nice atmosphere. That said, I wouldn't go back on my own, as flavor matters more to me than a cool setting.

Salmon onigiri was delicious. However, they didn't have wasabi & didn't offer soy sauce; we had to ask for it. The coffee was low quality, almost like water. The staff were very friendly. The place looks nice & authentic, but it was a scorching day close to 40°C, & there's no AC inside, so it felt extremely hot.
Came in to try the syphon coffee, we were told that there wasnt any done & that we could wait, which we did but then the employee seemed to have found an old batch & served us lukewarm, barely tasting coffee. Not enjoyable & not worth it.
With the winter months here, having space to sit & eat here is imperative. Unfortunately, that's not really an option because people are hogging the seats on their laptops. Also no decaf anything (tea or coffee) meant I couldn't get a warm drink here. Restricting weekend laptop use & adding decaf warm drinks would boost this business. I'd love to come back but don't see there being space for me.
I had the fried chicken & the salmon onigiri, both were a bit disappointing. The chicken wasn't crispy, it had gone cold, soggy & chewy so it wasn't easy to eat or tasty. The salmon had no seasoning & was overcooked & dry. I also had the marinated mushrooms, & it was just one mushroom cut into 4 & it really wasn't to my taste. The marinade was filling the mushroom & burst out in my mouth. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be, but it wasn't for me. The staff all were very nice & the cafe looks really cool too. I would go back to try coffee & a pastry because they looked good.
Nice cafe with some delicious light foods. I ordered the hojicha latte with oat milk & a ajitama onigiri. It is like a chilled patty of seasoned rice & meat topped with a pickled boiled. egg. They unfortunately do not have decaf coffee. But service is nice & the place is beautiful. No AC for hot days either.

This place is amazing for many reasons, this restaurant is providing variety of authentic Japanese taste with very reasonable price with friendly nice service, great for just swing by get coffee & some bite & just dine in restaurant has amazing chill cozy vibe, I'm highly recommend this restaurant
The onigiri that i choose was the tuna mayo & it's good. When you dine in, they will serve the onigiri open, then you need to fold it by yourself. It's an interesting experience before you eat. They also has miso soup, which is good, coffee, & matcha hojicha latte. The place atmosphere is cozy & good to relax & hang out
