A charming spot with beautiful decor & a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The service really stood out - friendly, attentive, & genuinely made the experience enjoyable. The food was decent, though not particularly memorable , it's still a lovely place to visit for the ambiance & great service. Ps it's not the gentile on chabanel, it's totally different & you need reservations more than a week.

Finally tried this place this past weekend, & my family enjoyed it. Great friendly service. Food came fast even for Father's Day. Atmosphere is great & the restaurant is very nice inside. Looking forward to my next visit.

Was there for lunchtime on Father's Day. It was busy but the service was still good. Super cute establishment ate on the restaurant side but I'd love to go back to try the cafe side too. The food was good nothing crazy special. The portions were decent maybe a little on the small side but I didn't mind it. The drinks were good too. Totally wanna go back & try the meatballs & the pizza.

Yesterday we had supper at Gentile. The server was so nice & had great recommendations. I had The parpadelle with mushrooms & my husband had the rigatoni ragu sauce. Amazing. Dessert was the cheese cake with pistachios. Starters were the artichokes wow & endive salsd.

Cafe Gentile DDO is a perfect storm of everything that goes right at a restaurant. From the fresh food to the impeccable service to their amazing bar, every point was checked off for me. A very welcome addition to the West Island. This restaurant will be a gold mine.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing overall.

The sandwich was surprisingly spicy (all guests in my table agreed), yet there was no indication of this on the menu. Customers should be informed when a dish contains a significant level of spice.

The service was underwhelming. No one checked on our table to ask how the food was, & even getting water took a long time. We had to ask twice for ketchup for our French fries, & when it finally arrived, the portion was far too small for the amount of fries served.

The biggest issue, however, was the noise level. The music was so loud that everyone in the restaurant had to raise their voices just to have a conversation. Lowering the volume would greatly improve the dining experience.

To top it off, the suggested tip options started at 18%, which felt unreasonable given the quality of both the food & the service. Exceptional service deserves generous tipping, but that was certainly not the case during this visit.

Overall, there is significant room for improvement in both service & atmosphere.
