Incredible pasta & risotto dishes! Pizza is amazing. The staff is super professional, friendly & enthusiastic about the menu & very attentive to their guests.
I also love the atmosphere, the interior design & the vibe. If you love Italian cuisine, or are looking for one of the trendiest places in town, you MUST try Il Gentile, they will not disappoint.
What a fantastic Sunday treat! We visited today & decided to try their specialties - the Lamb Lasagna & Zeppole - & honestly, we were not disappointed. The Lamb Lasagna was rich, hearty, & perfectly layered, with tender lamb that had clearly been slow-cooked to perfection. A truly comforting dish done right.
The Zeppole were a delightful finish - light, fluffy, & just sweet enough to leave you smiling. A classic done beautifully.
Beyond the food, the service was attentive & warm, making us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. & the ambiance? Absolutely stunning - the kind of place where you want to linger long after your meal is done.
Highly recommend making a reservation & trying their specialties. We'll definitely be back!

We recently celebrated a family birthday at Cafe Gentile. It was a great experience from start to finish. The staff was extremely attentive & very friendly. The food was delicious & the timing for each course was perfect. We would highly recommend.
The atmosphere was warm & inviting & the service was attentive. Every dish was fresh & full of flavor.
You can really tell they care about quality & the overall customer experience. It's the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Perfect whether it's for a date night, a family dinner, or a night out with friends.
I recently discovered Gentile Café in DDO & I honestly can't say enough good things about it. We first went for brunch two Sundays ago, & I was so impressed that I practically begged my husband to go back that same week for dinner on Friday night.
From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm, inviting, & beautifully thought out. There's such a great attention to detail-not just in the décor, but even in the little touches that made my kids feel so welcome & comfortable. It really made the whole experience feel special for the entire family.
The food is absolutely incredible. Everything we tried, both at brunch & dinner, was fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care. You can tell there's real passion behind the menu.
But what truly elevates the experience is the service. The staff is attentive, friendly, & genuinely makes you feel taken care of without being overbearing.
Going back on Friday night was exactly what I needed to unwind after a long work week-it was everything I had hoped for & more.
Gentile Café has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Highly recommend!
Went last Friday with a few childhood friends & had a fantastic night! The atmosphere was lively & welcoming, the service was attentive, & the food was excellent. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends over great Italian dishes & drinks. Everything from the decor to the overall vibe made for a really enjoyable evening. Café Gentile West Island is consistently excellent. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern & welcoming - great for a casual coffee, a business meeting, or a relaxed lunch or dinner. The coffee is top-tier, rich & smooth, & you can tell they take pride in every cup.
The food is just as impressive. Passed by with some friends on a Sunday evening around 7 pm & it was busy. Very nicely decorated & seating was very comfortable. Our waitress Marika was excellent. Friendly, attentive & efficient. We shared a margherita pizza to start which was delicious. My wife had the Veal al limone which she said was good. I wouldn't have been happy with that plate as the portion was 3 small & thin slices of veal for $40. I would have still been hungry. I had the Chicken parmigiana which was delicious but instead of serving it with a side of pasta, I got fries. Wasn't crazy about that substitution. My friends also had the veal as well as the cavatelli which was delicious. A nice meal in a nice environment with good service but a few small shortcomings. Highly suggest them to drop the fries with the chicken parmigiana & increase the portion on the veal. Recommended.
I finally made it to Café Gentile for brunch, & it was well worth the wait.
It was quite busy when I arrived, but I was seated at the bar, which worked perfectly since I was dining alone. Serena (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was working behind the bar & was absolutely lovely - warm, personable, & always smiling. I ordered the Avocado Crostini, a Gentile Spritz, & a latte. Everything was fresh & delicious, & the latte was excellent.
Since I hadn't yet tried their dinner menu, I made a reservation & returned with my husband. Once again, the restaurant was very busy, which says a lot. We were greeted warmly by the hostess & shown to our table promptly. The atmosphere is inviting & cozy, with great music that adds to the overall experience.
Our server, Bella, was attentive without being intrusive - the perfect balance. For appetizers, I had the Artichoke Crostini & my husband ordered the special (Argentine shrimp with quinoa). Both were beautifully presented & full of flavor. For mains, I chose the Grilled Branzino, which was perfectly cooked, & my husband had the Madison Square Garden pizza, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
We ended the evening with a brownie topped with marshmallow & vanilla gelato - a sweet & satisfying finish. Thank you to Serena for the thoughtful treat.
Between Serena & Bella, the service was outstanding on both visits. Café Gentile delivers not only excellent food but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to return.
Highly recommended for both brunch & dinner in the West Island.
My mom & her friends came to eat & loved their experience! Everything from the decor, the music & obviously the food. Management was extremely accommodating & staff was attentive & kind! They are a super tough crowd & rarely leave restaurants with this much positive feedback!
The stunning architecture makes Cafe Gentile a fun place to go for brunch, lunch or coffee. However, both coffees that I ordered ( Latte & Cappucino) arrived luke-warm. The food was ok, the service attentive but clearly trying to clear the table fast (Sunday morning). I have had better coffee, but the atmosphere would motivate me to come back.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious coffee, clean & private bathrooms, service is decent & attentive. For the price is worth it, I rather spend the extra money & come here over any other coffee shop.

I can not say enough good things about this place. We frequently visit the Westmount location & the new location did not disappoint. My husband's company, Keen & Able Logistics had their annual holiday dinner there & it was a huge success. We were a group of 30 & the service staff went above & beyond for the entire evening. They were attentive & professional. The food was delicious, every course better than the last. From bus boy to management, these guys know the restaurant business. I wish them the best for their new location & highly recommend.
