This placed is way too overrated , we had a reservation yet had to wait 30 minutes for a seat. The food was average at best & the prices are ridiculous. If you are looking for something similar Bernie's is way better food & service.
The coffe shop inside has become apart of my daily ritual, & for good reason. From the moment you walk in, the retro atmosphere pulls you in & it's always buzzing with energy, in the best way. The coffee is genuinely some of the best I've ever had.
My go-to is a vanilla latte with the vanilla on the side (Tony knows exactly why), & it never disappoints.
But what really keeps me coming back is the team. Tony, Tommy, & George are the kind of staff that make you feel like a regular from day one.
Tony especially goes above & beyond - he remembers your order, looks out for you, & his hospitality is just genuine.
He's the one who turned me onto the canolies & the Nutella horns, which are absolutely incredible
I've brought my entire family here one by one, & every single one of them has really enjoyed the coffee & vibe of the place.
If you haven't been yet just go you won't be disappointed.

First visit to the DDO location & it did not disappoint. I've been to Westmount & Chabanel many times, & this one absolutely lives up to the standard.
Beautiful decor & a great vibe right when you walk in.
We had a great dinner with fabulous, friendly service from start to finish. The Caesar salad was fresh & really tasty, & the artichoke appetizer was absolutely delicious.
The Charred Up pizza with fresh mutz, parlour's sauce, dry cured house pepperoni, & Calabrian chilli flakes was perfect. Also had a great arrabbiata & margarita.
Incredible pasta & risotto dishes! Pizza is amazing. The staff is super professional, friendly & enthusiastic about the menu & very attentive to their guests.
I also love the atmosphere, the interior design & the vibe. If you love Italian cuisine, or are looking for one of the trendiest places in town, you MUST try Il Gentile, they will not disappoint.
Beautiful atmosphere. The decor is awesome. Went on a Sunday morning (8am ish). The choice of music was awesome. Slightly too loud for a Sunday morning. Unfortunately, No Pancakes before 9am. 😥

What a fantastic Sunday treat! We visited today & decided to try their specialties - the Lamb Lasagna & Zeppole - & honestly, we were not disappointed. The Lamb Lasagna was rich, hearty, & perfectly layered, with tender lamb that had clearly been slow-cooked to perfection. A truly comforting dish done right.
The Zeppole were a delightful finish - light, fluffy, & just sweet enough to leave you smiling. A classic done beautifully.
Beyond the food, the service was attentive & warm, making us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. & the ambiance? Absolutely stunning - the kind of place where you want to linger long after your meal is done.
Highly recommend making a reservation & trying their specialties. We'll definitely be back!
Food was bland, chicken very dry. Was hard to eat. For the price of about 17$, quality is not there. Really disappointed

Other tables got pizza & pasta & looked great. I will be trying that next time.
Coffee is alright
Got to the restaurant open the door & you are greeted instantly & how to help you. We were seated down & our waiter. Jimmy came to us & told us about the menu. He was amazing. I ordered an espresso martini was absolutely delicious. Then we had Nonna's meatballs & arancini as an entrée & also the gnocchi. Dessert cannoli.. Oh my God so so good shared with my girlfriend the atmosphere absolutely beautiful. We were there early & then saw so many people coming in. The cook had sent us an hello Hello 👋 which was so nice. Everybody's amazing. Got to speak to one of the waitresses I promised her that we would have an espresso martini together. The next time I went her name was Bella. Amazing service amazing food amazing people definitely definitely going back for more. The drinks are awesome. Gonna be one of my favourite restaurants for the summer that's for sure can't wait for The terrace to open ..
