This cafe & the hands on customer oriented owner goes above & beyond for the client! This is my favorite cafe in Montreal. I love the atmosphere, the ambiance & the maple oat milk latte is for me, one & only! I discovered this diamond of a place in the summer of 2024 & I have enjoyed many a good meetings & sit downs here with friends & so much good food from the grilled cheese to the dulce ro leche donut I can't say enough positive things about the epicness of this cafe! Dax cafe is about to expand into frozen ice cream gourmet treats so get ready for that as it's going to be one more addition to this already awesome cafe in the heart of Outremont!! Located on avenue Van Horne & open seven days a week even during holidays !!! I'd encourage you to support this Quebec owned local business that is full of heart & high quality coffee & hot & cold , beverages ( including epic wines!) , artisanal goods & ceramics for sale & an indoor & outdoor atmosphere that is gorgeous! If I could give Dax cafe 10 stars I would as they certainly deserve it! Excellent staff, excellent food & drinks.. it is your go to place! The best kept secret in Montreal is this gem!
Ps they welcome dogs on leashes… my Shiba is always welcome here which is yet another example of why Dax is so great!!! 😃
I like the coffee here & find the general set up of the cafe cute but the last two times I went I was kinda confused to see a bunch of wet dogs (it's winter) in this tiny packed space. I personally don't think animals belong where people eat, but I always pick up my order & leave so it's whatever. If you're allergic to dogs you might wanna avoid.

Lovely ambiance, & rare to find a cafe that also serves wine by the glass. Adorable terrace in the summer. Good coffee & probably the best vegan-GF cookie I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. For real. I just wish the cafe opened earlier, like 6:30-7am, so I could have time to grab a coffee on my way to work.
The coffee at DAX is authentic & hits the spot. Very well mannered & welcoming baristas. A great place to catch up with a friend or have a moment to yourself. I love the dax croissant sandwich (must try), the food feels like comfort food & is healthy!
Specialty coffee, expect a coffee that tastes special & not your Starbucks run of the mill coffee. The pastries were great. Long queue in the morning but worth it

Fantastic little spot for good food in a chill atmosphere. Strongly recommend the grilled cheese & the mocha especially, it was the best of all the coffees I'd tried in Outremont.
I've been going to Dax for years, & it remains one of my favorite local coffee shops. It's not just a neighbourhood gem, it consistently ranks among the best specialty coffee spots in the city. The team is incredibly welcoming, & their customer service is second to none. They're passionate about what they do, & it shows in every cup. Dax also offers an impressive selection of Canadian-roasted specialty beans, perfect for both casual coffee lovers & serious home brewers. The quality, consistency, & atmosphere make it a place I keep coming back to.
Very nice coffee. Grilled cheese with ham was great but look, it's about $8 for a tiny sandwich it can be a treat only once in a while. The coffee is exceptional though, clearly they are using great coffee beans & baristas are extremely kind & professional. Overall it's worth a visit for a good cup of coffee.
Great location, right next to Outremont metro station. Has a nice little terrace. The espresso was great. I had a grilled ham grilled cheese & it was very good as well. The owner is very knowledgeable & passionate about coffee. Staff was nice too.
