This cafe & the hands on customer oriented owner goes above & beyond for the client! This is my favorite cafe in Montreal. I love the atmosphere, the ambiance & the maple oat milk latte is for me, one & only! I discovered this diamond of a place in the summer of 2024 & I have enjoyed many a good meetings & sit downs here with friends & so much good food from the grilled cheese to the dulce ro leche donut I can't say enough positive things about the epicness of this cafe! Dax cafe is about to expand into frozen ice cream gourmet treats so get ready for that as it's going to be one more addition to this already awesome cafe in the heart of Outremont!! Located on avenue Van Horne & open seven days a week even during holidays !!! I'd encourage you to support this Quebec owned local business that is full of heart & high quality coffee & hot & cold , beverages ( including epic wines!) , artisanal goods & ceramics for sale & an indoor & outdoor atmosphere that is gorgeous! If I could give Dax cafe 10 stars I would as they certainly deserve it! Excellent staff, excellent food & drinks.. it is your go to place! The best kept secret in Montreal is this gem!
Ps they welcome dogs on leashes… my Shiba is always welcome here which is yet another example of why Dax is so great!!! 😃
I like the coffee here & find the general set up of the cafe cute but the last two times I went I was kinda confused to see a bunch of wet dogs (it's winter) in this tiny packed space. I personally don't think animals belong where people eat, but I always pick up my order & leave so it's whatever. If you're allergic to dogs you might wanna avoid.

Lovely ambiance, & rare to find a cafe that also serves wine by the glass. Adorable terrace in the summer. Good coffee & probably the best vegan-GF cookie I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. For real. I just wish the cafe opened earlier, like 6:30-7am, so I could have time to grab a coffee on my way to work.
Belle découverte ce matin. Le café latte était parfait. Nous avons partagé le fameux grille cheese & la sandwiche Dax Italien, délicieux! Le personnel sympathique & surtout le propriétaire qui de prends le temps de bien servir & s'assure que les clients sont satisfaits.
C'est indisputablement le meilleur café third wave en ville. Service impeccable. Le sandwich déjeuner est tellement bon ! Par contre, les croissants ne sont pas à mon goût; ils sont plus denses & peu croustillants.
Un bon endroit de quartier, quelque fois, empressé, même pour les consommateurs fidèles. Un bon café de bonne mouture, wifi accessible & pratique, table & chaise confortable peut être occupé assise limité. Les cartes de fidélité ne sont plus disponibles malheureusement. Concept intéressant & novateur depuis son ouverture. Belle qualité d'ensemble. Possibilité d'expansion dans un plus grand local!! 8/10.
Le café est excellent, les employés sont toujours souriants & créent une bonne ambiance, & le proprio vient toujours te voir & te parler. On sent qu'ils essayent de créer quelque chose d'unique & chaleureux. Merci!
Un café original sur Van Horne. D'abord, le café était excellent, mais la présence de bouteilles de vin tout autour nous met certainement en appétit d'y revenir !
