Review Summary

Café Cosé is widely celebrated as a top destination in Montreal for high quality matcha and unique, Vietnamese-inspired coffee drinks. Many customers praise the innovative menu, particularly the banana-themed and sea salt Earl Grey matchas, which are frequently described as the best in the city. The café offers a warm, modern, and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that makes it a popular neighborhood spot for relaxing or working. While visitors consistently highlight the friendly and accommodating nature of the staff and owner, the shop is small and can become quite crowded on weekends, often resulting in limited seating and occasional wait times. Although most experiences are highly positive, some guests have noted inconsistencies in drink sweetness or service speed during peak hours, yet the overall consensus remains that the exceptional flavors and inviting environment make it a must-visit location.

I came here on a boiling humid day in Montreal, but got recommended this place by a friend.

As a Viet, this is more Viet meets Modernism but with a tasty twist! There are some Viet flavours on the menu like the Coffee with Condensed Milk, Coconut, & Bananas. I ordered mine for'to here' of an Iced Banana Matcha Latte with a Chocolatine for roughly $13 CAD with taxes. Prices are average like your other coffee shops in Montreal.

For the ambience, it's pretty cute, modern condo-style, & chic (beige, white, brown), but with limited seating spots. No plugs (I think or it's limited) but there is WiFi, you just have to ask for the guest password.

Service wise, it may be slow, so please be patient when ordering & waiting. When I came close to 19h, there was only one nice barista serving & ordering for everyone. He was nice! Luckily I didn't have to wait too long for my order (around 5 mins), but I'm sure on other days might be chaotic.

Flavour wise, the Iced Banana Matcha Latte is pretty good, not too sweet. I personally liked it as I was able to taste the Bananas. Chocolatine was $4 & flakey & less chocolate.

It's a cute spot, roughly 10-15 mins away from Charlevoix metro. I do recommend coming here with friends or want a quick refresher, but beware of the last g wait & crowd!

So cozy, the coffee is really strong so will definitely satisfy your coffee cravings. Nice roasted flavour with the aftertaste. I wanted to try their matcha as I've heard great things about it & it was great! It is flavourful & naturally sweet. It stands up as one of the best cafes in Montreal & easily compares to the most famous ones I've been to.

I like the area the most, it's very quiet & plenty of street parking. Customer service was great too & I overall loved the calm & quiet atmosphere. Light music was played too which was perfect.

I went again & got a vanilla latte & earl gray latte & they were both too sweet, the syrup overpowered the coffee flavour. The banana bread latte was better & I would recommend if you want a sweet drink that still tastes like coffee, though it's not my personal taste but at least it was good.

Café Cosé is very aesthetic, but the matcha was lacking flavor a little. The banana bread coffee is good

So far it seems like they have the best matcha in town. The butterscotch matcha is insanely good. I truly feel bad for them though because when I go I see them hand whisking matcha for like 50 ppl. All to say that not all heroes wear capes!
