About

Café Bazin functions as a refined European-style establishment specializing in the technical craft of French patisserie and artisanal baked goods. The display cases feature an array of laminated viennoiserie, including buttery croissants and pain au chocolat, alongside complex entremets and seasonal tarts. Savory offerings typically include quiches and prepared salads constructed with high-quality, fresh ingredients. The interior design emphasizes clean, minimalist lines that prioritize the visual appeal of the baked products over elaborate ornamentation. Patrons select from a curated list of espresso-based coffee beverages specifically prepared to complement the sweetness of the desserts. The kitchen maintains rigorous standards for dough lamination and delicate sugar work, ensuring consistent texture and flavor profiles across every batch produced for the daily rotation of baked items.

Review Summary

Café Bazin is widely praised for its exceptional pastries, high quality coffee, and cozy atmosphere. Many visitors highlight the delicious desserts, such as the Tout Choco and various cookies, as standout features of their experience. While some diners enjoy the lunch options, others find the brunch offerings and certain savory dishes to be inconsistent or overpriced. Feedback regarding service is mixed, with some guests reporting welcoming and helpful staff, while others have expressed significant frustration concerning unfriendly management and policies restricting laptop use. Although the terrace and overall aesthetic are generally appreciated, the high price point and occasional service lapses remain common points of discussion among patrons.

The pastries here are so good, but the brunch wasn't anything special! I will go again to get a croissant & an almond chocolatier! I forgot to take a picture of them!

If you're going there to work, don't.

Computers & books are not allowed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Even though my friend & I were there from 9 to 10 a.m., one of the girls working there (I'm pretty sure she was the manager) made several comments about how she shouldn't allow us to work there. She also asked us to move to the tables outside so we wouldn't take up space inside the café.

If I'm already paying more than $20 for coffee & pastries, & I'm working during the hours when it is allowed, why am I being asked to move?

Overall, I think the brunch & food are good, based on the other reviews I've seen. However, I was deeply disappointed by the way the staff treated us.
