Ambiance vivante, mais bruyante. Éclairage tamisé. Disposition des tables en T dans la salle à manger ( un peu serré ) ou grandes tables pour les groupes, terrasse sympathique mais chaises/sièges pas super confortables si on compte y rester un moment. Menu composé de variantes goûteuses des traditionnels entrées & plats de résistance : cuisine savoureuse & créative. Portions individuelles agréables voire généreuses très très apprécié. En groupe (2+) & en mode tapas, c'est un excellent choix. Carte de vin élaborée, mais il faut prévoir payer (1/2 litre maison 39$, à titre indicatif) Salle à manger bondée en milieu de semaine : c'était vraiment bon!!
Malheureusement, service vraiment bête & impatient. On s'assoit & avons une première serveuse qui vient nous demander si on aimerait commencer avec quelque chose à boire. On a un seul menu, donc on a pas encore eu le temps de le lire. On lui dit qu'on a besoin de quelques minutes & la serveuse semble choquée & part. Une autre serveuse vient nous voir par la suite, & navré de le dire, c'est l'un des services les plus plates que j'ai vu. Pas de eye contact, on la sent impatiente un peu. Ma blonde demande une recommandation sur les cocktails - la serveuse répond vraiment comme si elle n'a pas le goût de nous parler. Elle finit par recommander un bon cocktail, on prend à manger en même temps. Le tout arrive très vite, puis franchement, je trouvais ça expeditif : la première serveuse vient chercher nos assiettes vides aux 2 mins - on n'en a pas! Ça brise vraiment l'ambiance. En fin de compte serveuse #2 nous demande s'il y avait autre chose, je lui demande la facture, je paie, & une autre fois, toujours dismissive, langage corporel repulsé, elle se met à parler à ses amis assis à une autre table & ne nous regarde même pas en prenant la machine. Personnellement j'ai senti un manque de patience & de service assez grave, surtout comparé aux autres restos / bars de Montréal. Je conseillerais à la gestion de mieux former le staff de plancher, car non seulement je ne reviendrai pas, mais je recommanderai fortement d'éviter la buvette chez simone.
Très belle carte de vins. Bon service & bonne rapidité. Les assiettes commandées ont été appréciés. Généreuse portion de frites pour le prix. Les acras de morues étaient très bonnes. Nous étions assis vers le fond & un groupe était à proximité, ce qui rendait l'atmosphère plutôt bruyante. Si j'y retourne, j'essayerai d'être en terrasse.
We were in Montreal to view the eclipse, see old friends, & generally take in the city's history. Looking for a place to sample some excellent Quebec cheeses & smoked meats served with style & creativity, we read on-line about La Buvette Chez Simone & it seemed like a good place to try. This intimate wine bar did not disappoint, with a menu as varied & eclectic as the clientele. Here, the crowd dictates the mood & the food is the star, with the friendly & knowledgeable wait staff only too eager to assist two anglophones with what might be the best items for them to try. They were correct. Nowhere else could we have had such a delicious & varied assortment of true charcuterie that was likely to be among the best in the city. A full menu of creatively prepared cuisine & desserts round out the offerings. A late night place that takes on a vibrant vibe in the evening when the adults come out to eat & play. Special thanks to Rafael from Marseille who was chatty, helpful & friendly. We'd go back often but we live in West Palm Beach & so will have to be content with the memory of a wonderful meal & evening in Montreal.

I always bring anyone from out of town here; its a Montreal staple, in my opinion. I love everything about this gem of a place! Great date spot as well.
Good food, nice ambiance. It's a great place to try out some new wines. Exactly what you would expect. Would have loved a wine tasting menu. They don't take reservations & the place was hopping even on a Wednesday.
Great time for a busy evening, yet plenty of space to sit down. It gets loud, but that's part of the bustling charm. Great spot for a date with friends or a significant other!
