The espresso was rich & smooth, definitely one of the better shots I've had in Montreal, & the vibe inside is that perfect cozy-but-lively mix where you actually want to stick around for a second cup. Our server was super friendly & patient while we debated over what to order, which we appreciated. If you're looking for a solid spot to catch up with people without feeling rushed, Brulerie St-Denis is exactly what you want.
Love that they have a good menu of coffee beans you can choose from, weighed, packaged for you right in store! & ground if you want it or not.
They have a customer washroom & nice sitting area inside & outside.
The customer service was amazing. They even asked what kind of machine/coffee i made to give me better recommendations. However respectfully the employee believed the espresso labeled beans would be appropriate for my espresso machine, when there is no type of espresso bean. So a bit of coffee training could be beneficial but I love the interaction & the staff was always patient with me.
What's funny about this place is that we love their beans available for purchase, especially the Ethiopian Harrar. But the espresso they serve in-house is only fair - a little thin tasting. Cappuccino is better. Service & ambiance at the Masson location, where we usually go, are consistently excellent.
