I stopped by Brew Lab this summer as a plus one for my foodie friend Sarah's collab, & I genuinely didn't expect to stumble upon such a special little café tucked inside a barbershop.
There's no big sign outside & nothing flashy. Just really good drinks, warm energy, & local art everywhere you look. It feels intentional & welcoming in that easy summer way, the kind of place you wander into & end up staying longer than planned.
I tried a few drinks & each one stood out. The Mango Affogato was tropical & creamy & felt especially perfect for a hot day. The Cocowater Matcha had real coconut slivers & was super refreshing, & the Freddo Cappuccino was bold & strong without being overwhelming. They use Italian beans roasted here in Québec, & you can taste the care that goes into everything.
One fun summer detail is their $3 affogato special on Wednesdays, with rotating gelato flavors. It's an easy midweek stop if you're nearby & craving something cold & comforting.
What really makes Brew Lab special, though, is the energy. They spotlight a new local artist every month, the art is available for purchase, & they don't take any commission. They also host community pop ups, welcome dogs, & rent out the space for events, which makes it feel deeply rooted in the neighborhood.
The barbershop has been around for a couple of years, & the café launched more recently, but even during my summer visit, it already felt like a local favorite in the making.
I'm just a foodie who loves trying new spots & sharing my experiences. If you enjoy discovering places like this, come hang out with me on TikTok @foxy.appetite & IG @foxyappetite 💛
