Brama has quickly become my favorite Italian restaurant in Montreal. The food is incredible, both in taste & quality. The service is great & owner is very nice!
I would recommend sharing a bunch of plates to try as much as possible. Everything is so delicious, from the starters to the desserts.
My favorite is the cavatelli al guanciale - & that's coming from a girl who doesn't usually like mushrooms. Also their oysters are the best I've had!View more
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Brama!
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The burrata was bursting with flavour & served with perfectly grilled, seasoned baguette slices-truly a standout. The radicchio salad was unbelievable, & the cavatelli? To die for.
Service was outstanding-our waitress was warm & attentive, & we were lucky enough to meet the chef, who not only came out to chat with us but also generously treated us to two incredible desserts.
The tiramisu was easily one of the best I've ever had, but the pistachio cheesecake was next level. Light, perfectly baked, topped with fresh cream & a hint of orange blossom-this dessert changed my life.
I can't wait to go back. 100/100! Highly recommend!View more
We came here on a Friday afternoon & ordered two pasta dishes to go. The location is industrial, with free but limited street parking only.
The restaurant has a small & cozy dine in area & separate area for take out orders.
We tried the pappardelle Bolognese & cavatelli al guanciale. We noticed for some items the pricing online differed from the menu on site - the prices were cheaper online. I am not sure if this is because the menu wasn't updated or perhaps there is a different charge for dining on site.
We immediately went to the car & tasted the food, the pappardelle is described as cooked in a'slow cooked meat sauce with beef veal, pork & fennel sausage' however the sauce tasted more like plain tomato & was slightly too acidic. It was missing some sweetness & there wasn't nearly enough noticeable meat. The pasta was otherwise well cooked but this was an average dish. I would not re-order.
The cavatelli on the other hand was extremely flavorful, a rich creamy sauce that was very decadent. The only drawback was the shape of the pasta, these looked like fat maggots.
In terms of pricing & portion, I thought this was pretty fair since this is supposed to be fresh handmade pasta.
The location itself was difficult to get to for us & the size of the restaurant was quite small for dine in, we would have to make sure we reserve in advance if we planned on coming back.View more

Was impressed with the reviews & thought I'd give this place a try. We were warmly greeted at the door & promptly sat at our table. We were immediately advised of some items not available on tonight's menu. George our waiter was kind & patient & we really enjoyed his service. He told us about tonight's specials & left us time to make our decisions. We shared the mortadolce pizza as an appetizer. The flavours were very good but I think the hydration of the dough wasn't high enough. I think a bit more work on the dough recipe is warranted. The pasta plates were the real winners. My wife's Mac a la Gigi was delicious. A bit of spice & a complex tomato sauce. Was a special dish. My Cavatelli with beef cheeks was also incredible. The complexity of the sauce teemed with the super tender & delectable beef cheeks was a dish I will crave. For dessert we shared the pain perdu. It was good with its honey & nuts with cinnamon. & a scoop of ice cream. Reminded me of the taste of Loukoumades. Prices were reasonable & a revisit is a must. Highly recommended.View more
My partner & myself tried this while we were in the neighbourhood. She had cavatelli: fantastic blend of flavours, well cooked & generous portion. Myself I had the prosciutto pizza with olive instead of parmesiano: fantastic thin dow crunchy yet not chewy with quality ingredients, & they properly put the prosciutto on top of the arugula after exit of the oven to keep it as crudo & therefore flavourful as possible. I've never understood people that keep going back to the same establishment. This place turned me into a regular & I must of eaten there food over 30x & have catered on multiple occasions with high praise by all my guests. Braised beef cavatelli is melt In your mouth, Gigi pasta is fire! The pizza's are top notch. You can really feel the chef cares! What a gem!View more
Un trésor caché à Montréal : Brama Pour la deuxième année consécutive, notre équipe a choisi le restaurant Brama pour célébrer notre souper de Noël, & encore une fois, c'était l'endroit parfait! L'expérience culinaire est tout simplement inégalable. Ce restaurant italien excelle dans chaque plat. Nous avons commencé avec une incroyable salade de betterave, suivie d'une salade César & du meilleur tartare de saumon que j'aie jamais mangé. Les arancinis étaient divins, tout comme les polpettes. Pour les plats principaux, les pâtes étaient spectaculaires. Nous avons dégusté des cavatellis & le fameux Mac GiGi, & chaque bouchée était un pur délice. Les pizzas Américaine & Margarita ont également été un gros coup de coeur. Le service a ajouté à la magie de la soirée. Georges & Jessie, nos serveurs, étaient attentifs & chaleureux. Quant à Elio, notre barman, il a su concocter des cocktails parfaitement adaptés à nos goûts & a même pris le temps de capturer une photo de groupe mémorable. Le décor de Brama est enchanteur : à la fois cozy & romantique, il crée une ambiance parfaite pour toutes les occasions. & que dire de l'ambiance musicale? Elle a charmé toute notre équipe. Brama is by far the best Italian restaurant in Montreal! Chef John is the most hospitable cher/owner, making you feel welcomed & at home every time. The food is always top notch, especially the grilled octopus entrée & the Cavatelli braised beef pasta bowl (to die for!). Not to mention, their heavenly cheese cake to top it all off. The best hidden gem in the neighborhood! Everything we tried was absolutely amazing & everyone there was so friendly. We started with the beet salad which was delicious & had a very unique mix of flavors! We also shared the Cavatelli pasta & salsiccia pizza & we highly recommend them For dessert, their pistacchio cheesecake is a must try Will definitely be going regularily from now on!!View more
Meilleur repas depuis longtemps au resto après une grosse journée de travail! Ma collègue & moi avons pris des arancinis en entrées, une pizza végé & des cavatellis à la joue de boeuf braisée comme plats principaux. On a tout partagé question de goûter à plusieurs choses sur le menu pour une première expérience dans ce resto! Tout était EXCELLENT! Les arancinis sont croquants, fondants & goûteux... Ne vous fiez pas aux petites taches de brûlé sur la pizza, ça donnait du goût & la pâte fond littéralement dans la bouche... Les cavatellis crémeux à souhait... Georges notre serveur était telllllement sympatique! Toujours le sourire aux lèvres! Un vrai plaisir de se faire servir de cette façon! La dame près de la caisse ainsi que le cuisinier nous ont aussi fait la jasette tout sourire! Très agréable.... Le seul mini bémol, (& je comprends que la salle à manger est nouvelle), c'est la déco... Ça manque d'amour mais, Georges nous a assuré que ça allait s'améliorer prochainement... I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The Burrata was a beautiful appetizer to share with my partner. The Burrata was fresh & the salad that came with it was delicious. The Cavatelli dish was a delight. The portion was generous, the braised beef cheek melted in my mouth. The sauce was flavorful. This dish is one of my favorites. The linguine al Pollo was an excellent dish as well. The hot meals arrived steaming at the table, we could not ask for anything better. The service was impeccable, the staff were courteous & very kind. This restaurant is worth discovering. The only downside we noticed was that it got cold quickly inside when the delivery people or customers entered.View more

This isn't the first time I eat Chef John's food, but the first time dining at the restaurant.
Eating fresh from the kitchen is an entirely different experience.
The Aranchini are perfect. The chicken parm was the best I've ever had in my life.
The pasta is always served al dente.
The cavatelli, to die for.
For dessert, homemade cheesecake & canolli, both amazing.
You can tell the kitchen works with passion as everything on the menu tastes & smells like love.
Can't wait to be back.
