Afficher toutcroissant(76) coffee(47) bakery(40) bread(39) pain(39) pastries(38) cafe(36) patisserie(23) baguette(23)As a lover & connoisseur of bread, the baguette is exceptional. Other pastries are great & affordable. The staff seem to be enjoying themselves as well which is hopefully a sign that they enjoy working there & are treated well. Great croissant.Voir plus
From the friendly staff to the vast array of baked goods, you can't beat this place. Their artisan bread selection is great. They have various sandwiches in savory items, & every type of coffee you want. But the best part to me were the flaky French pastries, & various cookies they make. In my travels, I visit every French bakery up, possibly can. This place ranks way up at the top level. Add to that, the staff is quite friendly & accommodating with no attitude at all.Voir plus
I had never tried'fougasse' with olives before. Lot of delicious options of bread & croissant at the famers market at Baldwin Park. Guess they'll see me every Saturday :pVoir plus
If you've ever dreamed of reliving those lazy Parisian mornings-where the scent of fresh croissants mingles with the hum of café chatter-then Boulangerie Le Toledo is your Montreal dream come true.
From the moment you step inside, the air is thick with the aroma of artisan breads & buttery pastries. The vibe? Think cozy corner bistro with a touch of Montreal joie de vivre. The staff are friendly & efficient, & the space is always buzzing with locals & visitors alike.
Now, let's talk highlights. The chausson aux pommes-oh là là! Generous, flaky, & bursting with apple goodness. It's hands-down the best I've had in Canada, & every bite whisks me back to my student days in France, where pastries were a way of life. Pair it with their espresso, which is robust, smooth, & just the right temperature.
But don't stop at the chausson. The croissants are buttery & crisp, the sourdough is chewy perfection, & the sandwiches (especially the bagnat poulet & ciabatta with tuna) are worthy of a Parisian lunch break. The almond croissant? A must-try.
Le Toledo isn't just a bakery, it's a destination. With its communal tables, free WiFi, & sunlit windows, it's the perfect spot to linger with a book or catch up with friends. Whether you're a Montreal local or just passing through, make sure to arrive early!
Final verdict: If you're looking for a reason to fall in love with Le Plateau all over again, this is it. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!Voir plus
Everything is amazing here! This is my favorite spot in town for sourdough bread - chewy on the inside & perfectly crispy on the outside. Every bite was a treat! The croissants are buttery & excellent, & the latte & hot chocolate are lovely too.Voir plus
Le Toledo Bakery offers a wonderful balance of quality & charm. The croissant with ham, cheese, & béchamel is delicate & full of flavor. Their sourdough bread & hamburger buns are simply outstanding, crafted with care & expertise. A good espresso or cappuccino completes the experience beautifully. The staff is always courteous, attentive, & welcoming. With such excellent quality at fair prices, Le Toledo is a place I would return to without hesitation. IYKYK checkout how to use them buns, see photos.Voir plus
Great bakery for a quick pastry & cappuccino or if you're looking for some delicious freshly baked bread. The miso baguette is a must buy & try.
The sit-in area itself is a fight, with people vying for that next open spot which is quickly taken the second someone vacates.Voir plus
A really nice place with good coffee & great bread
When I went there were a lot of people but the service was good. I order a latte that was very good & a sandwich, the sandwich was good but not the best, if you want a bistro sandwich it's a really good option.
Apart from that I order a chocolatin & an apple bread, by far my favorite thing in the place.
The place is also super cute, with a cozy, vintage & chill vibe.
I recommend it a lot for the bread, & if you want to go to work or with friends it's a really nice place.Voir plus
It took some searching to find a good bakery in this part of Montreal, but finally found it! Le Toledo is excellent. Great bread, pastry & coffee. Nice people & great spaceVoir plus
Hands down best bakery in a city full of great bakeries. The reason? They do it all. Some places have very good patisseries, or viennoiseries, or breads - Toledo excels in every category. Some of my personal favourites are the Norwegian bread, the gâteau nantais, & the gâteau basque. Also the staff are super nice!Voir plus
I visited this bakery a few times whilst visiting Montréal. They have the most beautiful selection of croissants, breads, pastries, savouries & more. Great coffee & very friendly staff!Voir plus
When visiting a city & wondering where to get coffee, simply walk down the street & look for the busiest place which is how I found Le Toledo. The coffee is strong, the bread is crusty & the lime yuzu tart delightful.Voir plus
We ordered online a few hours before pick up & every pastry was phenomenal, especially the almond croissant. Looking forward to trying "the bread that kills" & their madeilines.Voir plus
Ordered a chocolate muffin, apple strudel & croissant. The apple was meh - too much of like an apple sauce inside. But the chocolate muffin & croissant were some of the best I've had. Great texture, flavor, & all that. The shop itself is nice. Like a long rectangle with seating to work or just enjoy your fresh pastry. They also have coffee & chai & desserts as well as fresh baked bread.Voir plus
A bustling French bakery that makes their sweets & breads in house. A large selection of bread & pastries, friendly & efficient service, & you can see the bread being made as you wait in line. On a Saturday morning, it was busy so expect to wait about 5mins to select & get your order. You may have to wait around to find a seat inside.Voir plus
Having returned for a second summer in a row anticipating a renewed enjoyment of the vegan chocolate chunk cookie (decadent in my memory) & of their pastries, I've found that Le Toledo bears consistency in the quality, integrity, & experience of their offerings. My friend & I are also drawn to this bakery because of how pleasing the sight of the long-stretching display case lining the length of the bakery is- it abounds with perfect-looking pastry & bread options. The seating & ambiance are another feature we appreciate, along with the natural light coming in from the large windows & the very convenient location (on Ave Mont-Royal). The vegan chocolate chunk cookie is impressive for its texture. If you're a chocolate fiend, you'll appreciate this as it is packed with chunky slivers that are rich & smooth. The pain suisse was also excellent, I would order this again as the chocolate & delicately flavoured custard complimented the flaky croissant nicely. The chocolate almond croissant however was the most memorable pastry we'd enjoyed that morning. The almond paste is rich & nutty. The amount of filling & chocolate were in my opinion ideal, rendering every bite de-LightFul. I think anything you'd order here (among the pastries, I haven't tried any of the breads & so I can't speak for them) will satisfy. Our firm recommendation though (& that of the lady before us in the line) is the chocolate almond croissant.Voir plus
Love this place. Excellent walnut bread & good caffe lattes. Very busy. Sometimes the wait seems unnecessary, but clearly the staff are happy & that makes me happy.Voir plus
I recently visited this charming bakery & café, & I must say, it's an absolute gem! The pastries here are nothing short of incredible. Each bite is a delightful experience of rich flavors & perfect textures. Their selection of fresh bread is equally impressive, with options to satisfy every preference, from traditional loaves to unique varieties like Khorasan & Épeautre. The coffee is delicious & expertly brewed, making it a perfect complement to their baked goods. The barista was friendly & skilled, ensuring each cup was crafted to perfection. The ambiance of the place is warm & inviting. The interior features a beautiful wooden design with cozy seating areas that make you feel right at home. It's a great spot to relax, work, or catch up with friends while enjoying some of the best baked goods in town. I highly recommend this bakery & café to anyone in the area. It's a wonderful place to indulge in delicious pastries, fresh bread, & top-notch coffee. Don't miss out on this delightful spot!Voir plus
It's a nice bakery with lots of croissants, breads & pastries. Service was good but perhaps because of the lateness of the day, around 3.00 pm, some of the food was not very fresh, particularly the almond croissant, the coco it tart & the miso bread.Voir plus
Toledo is a charming French-style bakery with good bread, pastries, patisseries, deli items, sandwiches, coffee, etc... The warm atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to start your day. We even chose our accommodation based on its proximity to the bakery!Voir plus
Recent review: quality has consistently gone downhill across the board. Bread is likely using lower quality flour & is proofed/fermented less than when they opened. Sweet items are sweeter but less flavorful overall. I stopped buying the sweets about a year ago due to the decline. I picked up a loaf today & it was measurably worse than before. A shame. They used to be so excellent. 3 year old review:One of the best spots for bread on the plateau. French people will find the pâtisserie options a bit too sweet, but the bread can compete with European quality. It's my favorite bread place in MTL along with amour du pain.Voir plus
Got stale fougasse & bad service here. Not impressed. *& poor costumer services, educating your staffs & dropping all breads left from days before are much useful than typing rubbish. & stop saying all made on the day, what a stupid lie.Voir plus
Best French artisanal bakery in Montreal ! Easily accessible bakery in the Plateau area, 5min walk from the Mont Royal metro station. Upon entering the bakery, you're greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods, then you can watch the baker expertly prepare & cut the dough. There's more than 25 different types of bread & a wide selection of pastries. The coffee was excellent, & I tried the almond croissant, which was one of the best croissants I've had in Montreal. Would definitely recommend !Voir plus
A lot of amazing croissants, breads & baguettes available here. They have some great coffees to go with it too. I would recommend the egg & mushroom croissant.Voir plus
We had a great experience going for breakfast on Sunday. Even though they don't have the "American" style breakfast with eggs etc, they offer a great option of baskets with different kind of breads & our sandwiches were really tasty. The coffee was good & the ambience was nice, with an European style, cozy spaces to sit around & a fun "Weight balance" that works well ... little scared to get our weight after eating so many breads !
