Review Summary

Reviewers describe Boucherie Verdun Beef for its high quality meat and friendly service, with praise for items like the chicken soup with its rich, balanced broth, the wagyu grilled cheese, and the generous charcuterie platter; the lamb merguez is described as fresh but too cinnamon-forward for some, calling it less of a traditional merguez. The Valentine's Day dish, the 'boîte de l'amour', is highlighted as a wonderful idea with delicious, plentiful portions. The place comes across as a welcoming, casual neighborhood shop with helpful staff, a focused yet not overwhelming meat selection, and a willingness to recommend additional purchases. Some comments mention pricing on certain meat cuts and a few hygiene concerns in the boucherie section, but the overall impression is positive and many say they will return to try more offerings.

Excellent chicken soup!

My partner & i sick with colds, i went out in search of chicken soup. When i stopped at Verdun Beef, they explained their soup options, & let me taste the clear broth. The broth was deep & complex, but wanting something a little more hearty, i ordered the full chicken soup. The person serving me explained that portions are small-ish, so i ordered 3 soups to go for the two of us. Those & a baguette cost about $25 with tip.

It was memorable! So rich with flavours without being salty. There was a good balance of grain, vegetables, & broth. It was exactly what i wanted. I will be back for more, & to have a hot cup of broth as well.

I shouldn't be surprised, as everything I've had at Verdun Beef was good, but i am so satisfied by my bowl of soup that here i am texting friends about it & singing its praises to online strangers.

Found this place when we visited Verdun last week, looks very cool & clean. We ordered salad & soup for lunch, perfect for a warm day.

I love Verdun Beef (& Verdun Beach, although, that's for another review) ! They have a great variety of cold cuts, imported & local foods, meat & meat products. Their sandwiches are amazing & come with a side of pickles & homemade chips (I particularly loved the St Brigid's that I believe has been removed from the menu, but you can buy the white ham there & make it at home). They also sell the focaccia (flavours are on a rotating basis) they use for their sandwiches as well as broth & soup, which are simply heavenly.
