duck(37) wine(34) french(31) dessert(29) tasting menu(27) lobster(23) recommend(22) lamb(20) attentive(19)My wife & I had the absolute pleasure of visiting this restaurant recently. We were delighted the moment we walked in, to the moment she had her salad & Beef bourguignonne, & I had my Rabbit confit & roasted Duck breast. The desserts as well are also splendid. It goes without saying that when we came to beautiful Montreal to treat our palettes & rest, the experience we enjoyed, as well as the attentive service & atmosphere, was most definitely our highlight. They seem very consistent here & that, I feel, is what sets examples.View more
Excellent resto français le magret de canard est a recommander, la cote de boeuf du moment delectable, bons vins , excellent serviceView more

Lovely restaurant, highly recommend. I had the filet mignon, which I enjoyed.View more
I was looking for a nice French restaurant in Montreal & found it with Bonaparte! C'était magnifique & très très délicieuse!! Georges did a great job telling us about the food & wine & greatly appreciated the service. Between the lobster bisque, fois gras, filet mignon, & paired wines from all over, the experience was exquisite.View more
We loved our meal & experience here. We will return for certain.View more
Overcooked very dry arctic char, steamed vegetables with nothing on them.
For the price we had higher expectations.
Nice cocktails, speedy service, but main courses missed the mark.View more
Both the food & service were lovely. Definitely high end, a little different than what I'm used to but the experience was worth it!View more
There are two restaurants that are our favorites in Montreal. Those are Bar George & Restaurant Bonaparte. Bar George has been our favorite for the last few years. Our all-time favorite has been closed for more than 10 years & that was known as the Beaver Club. Bar George has tried to kind of make itself similar to that but unfortunately I'm noticing it's a little bit not quite what it used to be. I would have to say our current favorite is Restaurant Bonaparte. It is located in the Napoleon Bonaparte hotel. Where is Bar George is what you'd call British, restaurant Bonaparte is full on French. When you sit here you're in a nice white dining room with crisp white linens. True high-end French dining. For my course I had the filet mignon topped with a nice large lobe of foie gras. It really doesn't get much better than that. There are high-end steakhouses such as Joe Beef etc. the food in those places is excellent but the noise can be very distracting. Add Bonaparte you have the epitome of fine dining. The staff knows your likes & dislikes. You are exceptionally well cared for in that restaurant. It has become our favorite now. Seafood, Steak, Pork & Duck dinners are all wonderfully prepared. The desserts are simply elegant without being over the top. We found the Profiterole to be among the best we've had anywhere. It is a fairly expensive restaurant among the most expensive we were at during our vacation. But this kind of fine quality dining attention to detail does not come cheap.View more

Charming boutique hotel in a great location of Old Montreal. Restaurant & bar are terrific. Staff could not be nicer & more accommodating. Been staying here for over 25 years.View more
Amazing. Everything amazing. Service. Food. Atmosphere. It was great all aroundView more
View more
Simon awaited us with astonishing courage & splendor. We went for fancy meal because we are not used to such fancities & I think they did a good job not making us look like fools. Thank you for that. But fancy feasts Have little food & not much more to offer. The wine was great & was indeed a good pairing with our filet mignon & fancy underwater snacks. Thanks again to Simon for cosplaying wellView more
C'est un hôtel donc n'allez pas célébrer votre party de bureau là-bas ce n'est pas le bon endroit pour cela. Pour le reste c'était excellent.View more
