Five stars are simply not enough ! This place transports you to a different time & place, with heavenly food that is made with care & meant to be savoured slowly plate by plate with your dinner companions, accompanied by a quality bottle of wine & quiet conversation. By far the best meal I have had in ages, brilliantly pleasing our motley crew of vegetarian & omnivorous kids & adults.

Going to Bistro Sofia is like stepping into a different temporality. Few things happen quickly, the enjoyment is in taking the time. A small room drenched in warm yellow light frequented by'le peuple du quartier'. Couples, families, friends, young & old. One day it's rowdy children, another someone brings an accordion & plays for the late diners.

When I come here I am at ease, feeling welcomed into a sensory world of flavours, textures, & conversations that unravel under the most favorable conditions. The food is simply delicious. The pastry is perfectly sweet. The wine list is excellent. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Montreal!

Super service, awesome food. Came here looking for tapas, had mezza, orange wine, kir royal & the best version of grappa I've ever had. Already planning to return next week.

Friendly staff, great selection & a nice atmosphere. We had the charcuterie board & some white Bulgarian wine. Very enjoyable experience. We will return. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal on the terrasse this past summer. The owner was personable & gave us great suggestions. The food was authentic & great. We have returned since to buy bulgarian products from their produce shelves. They carry imported bulgarian herbs, honeys, jams, liquors, wines, & more.
