The bread was wonderful, with truly great butter. I had a great mushroom velouté, & the halloumi with balsamic & honey glaze was phenomenal. My ravioli was flavorful & delicious, & my husband said his steak was the best one he'd had in several years. & the pavlova was definitely worth leaving room for! The staff were warm & attentive, & the whole evening was great. If you'd like a meal that's a bit of a splurge, I definitely recommend it!
First of all Jenny's service was 10/10, very knowledgeable & familiar she was much appreciated. The halloumi & rigatoni were some of the best dishes I've ever had, & the wine recommended to us was perfect. All at a very reasonable price, I'll be back soon.
Bistro La Franquette is easily by far my favourite restaurant in the city. The service & food is always excellent without a doubt. The Staff is made up of genuine people who make the experience delightful & special. The food never misses. I was amazed by their Pate en croute. Highly recommend visiting this place with friends or family.
So I'll start with, you should go. I'll get to the food in a sec but as soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. They have a cozy & intimate dining room that's great for a night out with your favourite people. We had the sourdough bread & halloumi starters, which were ok, but for the mains we had the ravioli, rigatoni & the hangar steak. All of them were incredible. The one large ravioli with pockets of ricotta was served al dente, it had the right amount of chew, with a tomato basil sauce which was nice & light. The rigatoni with beef cheek also was served with perfectly al dente pasta in a deeply flavored ragu, which I think sort of tasted like a stroganoff. The pastas were served together first, & then they brought out the hangar steak. Medium rare, with fries that remind you why Montreal is so well known for them, but also with some sort of a glaze or reduction which I didn't know was there until the plate was finished & I scraped up whatever I could with a spoon. In fact, I scraped all three dishes clean using a spoon. This isn't an Italian joint but they need to help me do scarpetta... maybe having that sour dough at the end with the mains so you can mop up the deliciousness on the plates. Service throughout was so kind, unobtrusive but so attentive. Staff accentuated the warm & welcoming vibe of the dining room. I would go back just to be taken care of like that again. I can't wait to go again.
Remarkable food - thoughtful, surprising, delicious - in a beautiful environment. & the head hostess was amazing. Honestly, can't say enough good things about that head hostess.

The worst experience in my life :) Two weeks ago, my boyfriend brought me to this resto. We had an amazing time, & the food is excellent. We decided to come back today. However, we had the worst service ever from " the owner" as she told us. My boyfriend ordered two drinks & food (cod cheek croquettes, hanger steaks, rigatoni)at the same time; after 30 mins, we started asking our waitress. She replied us : " that's the kitchen", she doesn't bother to go to check. Even though there is an entrée dish, we don't even have it. & then, we look at "the owner", my boyfriend asked her about the food. She was holding a glass, didn't want to put it down & came to talk. "She just craned her neck & looked at us". I never received that response in a restaurant. Especially, the price of the food we pay, we don't deserve to have that service . With that attitude, we would rather go to eat at Chinese restaurant . They serve better than yours. We waited for our order, & she told us to leave. What kind of service is this ? I recommended a lot of people to come but now I regret.
Second time eating here...I always give a resto 2 chances...both times, everything was outstanding...so the first time wasn't a fluke. The food is simple yet delicious, the waitstaff attentive, friendly...probably my favourite resto. Love this place
Had a great experience at bistro La Franquette! Wine & food were fantastic. The homemade sourdough bread had a nice butter & flaky salt that balanced out the sweet caramelized Halloumi cheese, they were a perfect combo. & thank you to Coco for recommending the Gemelli pasta!!! Will be back:)

Went there for our 3 year anniversary. Was our first time there & could not rave more about it. A really friendly, warm & cozy atmosphere. The food & cocktails were delicious. We highly recommend!

Dinner with the family was fantastic. All the menu items with frites are to be sampled. Broad wine list with helpful staff that know there stuff. Service was spot on. Hanger steak is the best I have had. Order plates & share with the table is the best way to enjoy. The ambience is perfect for an evening with family or friends. A truly great eating experience.
A must try restaurant in Montreal. Everything was perfect. The food, the service. There oysters were very fresh & delicious. The halloumi, never had such a good halloumi Mains we had the ravioli & beef tartare with fries, highly recommended.
Superbe bistro français. La nourriture est classique & parfaitement exécutée. Mention spécial au service, attentionné & toujours présent. Je recommande pour toute personne qui cherche à bien manger & passer une bonne soirée.
Vraiment sûr côté, merci aux réseaux sociaux. Prix prohibitifs, 200$ pour un repas sans vin , sans dessert c est juste exagéré. Si encore à ce prix l expérience était extraordinaire, mais ce faire sévir par des serveuses en crocs a ce tarif c est impensable. La nourriture n a rien de particulier, voir même pas terrible. Je ne recommande vraiment pas, encore une belle escroquerie. Sans oublier le tip de 18% car le 15% n h est plus.
