Established for over twenty years, the bistro des bières belges is housed in an authentic Canadian house of over 150 years old. The original house was a railway station, then a farm house where the current mezzanine served as a grain warehouse.
For several years, different businesses have occupied the site. On the menu, you'll find mussels which are famous to this bistro. They are prepared to your liking, with one of the thirteen house recipes and served with excellent mayonnaise french fries. While maintaining a Belgian touch, the bistro also offers grilled meats and local Quebecois products. To compliment your meal you'll have a choice of over 100 imported beers, the majority of which come from Belgium.
Come see the different categories: White, Fruity, Blondes, Amber, Brown and Pressure. In addition, a fine selection of wines is available. The bistro gives out a warm welcome in an old house with a beautiful garden terrace in the summer. You're invited to discover a small corner of Belgium on the South Shore. See you soon!
Across reviews, Bistro Des Bières Belges comes through as a warm, rustic spot with a welcoming atmosphere that stays lively on a terrace when the weather is nice. The beer list is repeatedly praised for breadth and quality, with many dishes chosen to pair expertly with Belgian brews, and mussels appear as a standout in several variations. Service is described as attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with guests noting accommodating handling of gluten free needs and other dietary preferences. The menu features crowd favorites like moules, coquilles Saint Jacques, octopus, tartare, and various meat and fish dishes, all described as flavorful and well presented, though a few reviews call out occasional inconsistency or higher prices. Overall, the Bistro Des Bières Belges offers a vibrant, satisfying experience for beer lovers and foodies alike, thanks to strong hospitality, solid cooking, and a diverse selection of beers that keeps guests returning.
Service was top, waitress was on the ball. As for food, very expensive. Wagyu burger was so cooked/burnt that it was hard to know if it was wagyu meat or just general supermarket meat. If it is wagyu, they definitely need to work on the cooking method because its sad to see it charred like that. Lots of beer selections obviously.
All in all, good service for a hefty bill. One & done for me!
One of my absolutely favorite spots of all time. This is where I had my first'legal' beer when I turned 18. I sampled virtually the entire menu of epic Belgian beers over the years, & had the opportunity to revisit this place on a recent trip to Montreal. Everything is good, the service is great, the atmosphere is awesome, it's a perfect place for good food, good beer, & conversation in good company. I couldn't recommend this place enough. It's a must try.
Bistro des Bières Belges is a haven for anyone who appreciates great food paired with an exceptional beer selection. The menu is rich & satisfying, with dishes that complement the wide array of Belgian brews perfectly-whether you're indulging in comfort fare or something more refined. The beer list is a true highlight, offering depth & variety that beer enthusiasts will love exploring. Service is right on par with expectations: attentive, knowledgeable, & relaxed, creating an atmosphere that's both welcoming & well-run.
I will be coming back here. Great selection of beers if you just want to come for a drink, a very nice wine list of you want some nice wine with your food. Then a great selection of food to eat as well. I really liked the warm atmosphere of the place. Top ratings from me.
Was there on Saturday night for a birthday dinner. It was a first for the two of us & we are excited to go back. The place (an old house style restaurant with two levels, two sections on the ground floor & a terrace for the warmer months) wasn't too packed when we arrived for our 6pm reservation, but people really started coming in at 6:30-7pm. The food was phenomenal (they have a set menu as well as an "ardoises"/rotating menu). They offer a huge variety of food... definitely not a standard pub food place (french onion soup, octopus, fries & mussels, poke bowls, duck sausages, tartare...). We had the ribs with risotto (on the set menu) & the butternut gnocchi with porto sauce, truffle oil & braised beef cheek... I'm still thinking about the latter. If you are a foodie & love to try new beers in a cozy atmosphere, THIS is the place to go (20 minutes from the island of Montreal~WORTH IT).
The food is not exceptional but the service is good. If you really like beer & want to try a private imported collection, it is the place. However, the parking space is very limited & if you park infront of the building, it is a permit zone, surprisingly for St-Hubert. You will get for sure a ticket as people from the block will call to get you one. So it is a no go for me if np place to park, sorry.

1st time here invited by close Belgian friends. Beer selection is GREAT! service n food very disappointing!! Great appetizers but cold fries, bad tasting garlic to the point of having to return main dish!! not coming back here!!
A descent small resto that's not a chain.it has a charming deco of a + 100 yr old wood house. It has a very good choice of beer &. the food is good & the price is standard. Enjoyable
I went to Bistro Des Bieres Belges with my boyfriend. I am not much of a beer drinker, but our waitress gave me a few suggestions & I ended up really enjoying my beer. I ordered the dijon mussels, & they were excellent. They came with a huge side of fries & warm bread. My boyfriend ordered one of the sausage plates & he really enjoyed his meal. We shared a creme brulee for dessert which was good as well. The environment is very warm, romantic & rustic. The service was very good & I love how they seated us in a tiny little corner alone. I would highly recommend this place for any couple looking for a great place for date night, or even a dinner with friends. There is seating both inside & outside (although I prefer the inside space) & lots of parking space in the back. Be sure to make a reservation though, its a very popular place on the weekends!
