Bistro Amerigo honors Amerigo Marcone, father of chef-owner Stephen Marcone. Since 2010, this cozy Italian bistro in NDG’s Monkland Village has been serving simple, carefully prepared dishes, warm hospitality, and a drink to bring it all together. Wow! I've lived near this restaurant for years but never bothered to go in before today. Normally, I avoid Italian restaurants because I feel like I could just make the same thing at home, but this place was phenomenal. We split the calamari, a salad, & a gnocchi (I think) dish with mushrooms & Italian sausage. This may have been the best meal I've eaten in years: so flavorful, so delicious! The calamari was done just right, & the sauce on the pasta... we left saying wow over & over as we walked home. I wish they had a lunch menu because we were not prepared for the amount we ate. Fantastic!

They don't take reservations though, so, if you go during high demand, expect to give your phone number & wait for quite a bit.
Very Italian atmosphere, nice bar selection, several daily specials.

Has a cute dinner vibe. Had their special of the day which was a torched tuna with a salad, & it was very mediocre. Calamari was good. Was a nice spot but not sure I would go back. Pasta was good but felt like something I very easily could have made at home. Although we sat at the bar it feels like staff walked by us frequently without paying attention when had a question.
Loved the food! Came here as a group of 4 on a Tuesday evening. We ordered a lot of food & we're very pleased! The service was very family style & laid back, the restaurant is small & cozy. The prices are reasonable but mainly the food was very tasty!
All the pasta was good, the appetizers as well.
We had the calamari, mozzarella di bufalla, shrimp ravioli, duck ragout pasta, Italian sausage pasta & braised beef. All delicious! Thank you
overall pretty goood but nothing super amazing (for me at least). tried the fried calamari, mushroom truffle gnocchi, linguini w clam, cavatelli barese & chicken parm. yeah it was all p good :) hard to pick fave cuz they're all so different but it was good to have the variety cuz i think i woulda gotten bored w just one

Everything over there is cooked to perfection to make it delicious & real Italian authenticity, from the appetizers to the main dish. Not to mention that the calamari melts right in your mouth. The staff is super friendly & provide excellent service.

We had to wait an hour for a table, which was fine as we knew they didn't take reservations. We were a group of 4. The chicken parm was 10/10, the gnocchi had such an overwhelming truffle taste that it was not enjoyable. One of the other pasta dishes we ordered was over cooked. Also the bread they serve was really disappointing. The calamari was to die for.
This place was bustling on a Wednesday night. The service was quick & the food was amazing! We ordered calamari as starter, the parpadelle & the cavatelli. The mains comes with bread & soup or salad. The minestrone was very hardy & flavorful. My favourite dish was the cavatelli as the balance of the sausage & the bitterness of the brocollini made the dish balanced. The portions were generous & was left feeling very full. Would def come again when craving Italian food.
I really wanted to love this place. The ambience & decor are really nice & cozy. The service was really friendly & knowledgeable. Ultimately though, the food was only ok. We ordered the fried seafood platter &, while I enjoyed the calamari & shrimp, I thought the mussels & fish were not tasty at all. The flavors were too strong & it felt like I was eating old fish. As a main, I ordered the tiger shrimp ravioli & my partner ordered the pasta vongole. They were decent pasta dishes, but nothing extraordinary. & The two dishes & appetizer set us back about $130 after tax & tip, which I felt was a huge amount. Overall, I'd recommend trying it at least once. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll be coming back. The search for a great affordable pasta place is

5/5 experience. The food was amazing. The service was top. Very cozy space & will DEFINITELY repeat. We had calamari, gnocchi & ravioli & each of them were just amazing.
Great Italian meal. All of the food was great but in particular the calamari & the osso buco were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal & will definitely return.
I don't regret going to this restaurant. I had fried calamari, octopus has a appetizer . The calamaris were perfectly cooked it would melt in the mouth. The octopus were fried & seasoned with balsamic fusion. It was simply delicious. We took a red wine from the Puglia region Trulli it was the perfect wine for the meal I choose which was the lamb shank with rapini & potatoes . Simply delicious!
I took the cheesecake with pistachios unique. Their espresso is the best which is comparable to the Napoletano gusto.
What can I say I really enjoyed their food & price was very good.
I recommend this restaurant!
