Reviews describe Bistro Amerigo as a cozy, neighborhood Italian bistro in Montreal with a simple, honest menu of well executed classics made with fresh ingredients. Diners repeatedly praise the gnocchi, meatballs, arancini, and a wide range of pastas and seafood, noting generous portions, comforting flavors, and a homey atmosphere that suits lunch or dinner. The wine list and service are often highlighted as warm and attentive, though several comments mention long waits for tables due to no reservations, crowded spaces, and occasional inconsistencies in service. Standout dishes such as vongole, octopus, and tiramisu or cannoli are frequently cited, while a few visits are described as pricey for the area. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a genuine Montreal gem that delivers authentic Italian food with personality and invites guests to return to try more of the menu.
Cozy, home-cooked vibe. Food is good & comforting, & the menu feels simple & straightforward. Service was just ok, nothing special. Overall, fair for the price & a solid neighborhood option, even if it's not particularly memorable or spectacular.

Simply incredible! Im a sucker for good authentic italian food & have been to italy a few times & this place hits the spot just right. Its cozy & they don't take reservations, so be aware of that. The food is awesome, the service is not fussy but very nice, efficient & friendly. I especially recommend their papardelle at ragu (veal sauce) which slapped. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu
Nice cozy, familiar little place. The staff are very amiable & warm. Insalata Di Popo is a must do - the roast on the octopus is top tier. It's hard to do octopus correctly & this place nails it - tasted fresh! Portions are nice & big.
About 20 mins walk from Villa Maria metro if you don't want to take the bus.
What an unforgettable dining experience! From the moment we sat down, we were taken care of by Roberto, who was an absolute gem of a server-sweet, warm, & authentic. He made us laugh, told stories like everyone's Nonno, & made us feel right at home.
The food was phenomenal. We started with the veal meatball-tender, rich, & perfectly seasoned. The seafood platter was fresh & generous, & the linguine with sardines was a standout-bold, flavorful, & done just right. We finished with a crisp, creamy cannoli that hit the spot.
The ambience was exactly what you'd want for a cozy Italian dinner: dim lighting, a little loud, but so familiar it felt like a big family gathering. Highly recommend-can't wait to come back!
Loved the food! Came here as a group of 4 on a Tuesday evening. We ordered a lot of food & we're very pleased! The service was very family style & laid back, the restaurant is small & cozy. The prices are reasonable but mainly the food was very tasty!
All the pasta was good, the appetizers as well.
We had the calamari, mozzarella di bufalla, shrimp ravioli, duck ragout pasta, Italian sausage pasta & braised beef. All delicious! Thank you

A perfect neighborhood restaurant. Cozy on a fall evening. The service is always friendly & decontracte but precise & on point. Small menu but every dish is perfection. Highly recommended
Hidden gem! Possibly the best Italian food I've ever had outside of Italy. This small bistro serves uncompromising & incredibly flavorful Italian dishes in a cozy setting. I had the grilled Octopus which was absolutely amazing. Cannot recommend enough!
Such a wonderful family owned restaurant. The food is delicious, service warm & efficient. It has small seating & a very cozy atmosphere, first come first serve. I enjoyed myself so much. I can't remember enjoying a restaurant to that level. Highly recommend.
What a delightful Italian restaurant. Cozy , charming atmosphere. Our waiter Robert had us laughing all night long. I would definitely recommend this fine establishment!! Reminded me of Florence. Will be making a return visit soon.

I really wanted to love this place. The ambience & decor are really nice & cozy. The service was really friendly & knowledgeable. Ultimately though, the food was only ok. We ordered the fried seafood platter &, while I enjoyed the calamari & shrimp, I thought the mussels & fish were not tasty at all. The flavors were too strong & it felt like I was eating old fish. As a main, I ordered the tiger shrimp ravioli & my partner ordered the pasta vongole. They were decent pasta dishes, but nothing extraordinary. & The two dishes & appetizer set us back about $130 after tax & tip, which I felt was a huge amount. Overall, I'd recommend trying it at least once. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll be coming back. The search for a great affordable pasta place is
5/5 experience. The food was amazing. The service was top. Very cozy space & will DEFINITELY repeat. We had calamari, gnocchi & ravioli & each of them were just amazing.
