We had dinner in Friday evening, right in the midst of the Quebec school break, & the restaurant was packed. Even then, we had a beautiful evening, cocktails were amazing, food was delicious & our waiter, Mike & his team were simply delightful. Even if it's an airport resto bar, the venue is beautiful. It's a great spot for a romantic evening.
The Staff was really nice, thanks to Jonathan & Alejandro at the bar, very good service, good drinks ! Also I thing it was the manager but I don't remember his name was super helpful & great ! The food was also good we enjoy our experience! Thanks a lot! We'll be back!

Decent restaurant for a hotel bar, beer selection left a lot to be desired. Plenty of options but pretty standard stuff. French onion soup was tasty. Pricy for what it is but that's expected at an airport hotel.
My wife & I got stranded at YUL due to bad weather & a missed connection, so ended up staying at the Bonvoy here & eating a light dinner & then breakfast here. It definitely exceeded our expectations! The restaurant is casual yet very nice, the staff is super friendly, it has a good-sized bar to sit at & the food is delicious. For dinner we had the veggie sandwich (zucchimi, eggplant, rucola, tomatoes & mozzy cheese) & fries & we loved it. For breakfast we had the poached egg on avocado toast (minus the avocado), fruit & a side of bacon. Again, very tasty especially the fruit & the egg toast, neither of us were OTT about the bacon but all-in-all very good!
I generally don't write reviews for establishments below a 2 star but for such a large internationally recognized establishment - this was beyond disappointing. Marriot has upheld a standard of service, quality & attention to detail globally which was absent throughout my entire visit. I will try to be as detailed as possible while providing constructive feedback. I'll start with the good, the actual setting, including the "atmosphere" & physical space (decor, display, cleanliness) were good as well as the drink that I had. There was a DJ present playing good music appropriate for the space. The bad - everything else, including service & food, the most important items considering it's a restaurant. I order two dishes, the first "Korean Short Ribs" which was mediocre at best. Flavor wise, a 6 out of 10, the flavor was actually decent on the short ribs in terms of seasoning but a bit overcooked & tough to chew. The platting & the actual dish was very difficult to eat & didn't make any sense, I almost spilt the content of the tiny plate on several occasions. 4 large skewers on a tiny 3X10 inch plate with little to no room to move, easily spilling the food onto the table. The slaw might be one of the worst things I've tasted this year, granted the year just started. Not only was it lacking flavor, over powered by mayonnaise & oxidizing with an unpleasant fermentation flavor as if it's days old or sat out of refrigeration. After the first bite of the slaw, I realized I'd rather not sacrifice my wellbeing. My second dish, a grilled octopus with Santorini fava bean "mash" & giant capers, made absolutely no sense. I'm not sure if everything was intended to be served cold, but with lukewarm grilled octopus, nearly refrigerated & grainy "mash" it was not an enjoyable experience. The octopus was well cooked & tender, nothing else on the plate complimented each. The giant capers were just unpleasant & obviously salty, which didn't make sense with the octopus already borderline over seasoned & high salt content of the "mash". Service - I've rarely experienced this level of inattentiveness & negligence at a globally recognized brand. Both of dishes came out without eating utensils, it took some waving to even get the bartenders attention. I wasn't offered water or really anything besides the initial menu & being asked how the dish was, the first while eating the second nearly 10 minutes later. I almost had to beg for a second glass of water, pretty much ignored for 10-15 minutes at a time with a bar with maybe half a dozen people. Upon completing both disappointing dishes, I watched the dirty plates & glasses sit in clear view of the bartender for 10-15 minutes at time. To the point where I figured let me time stamp to see if it would take 15 minutes to clear a finished with a nearly empty bar, & it did for my second dish. Even after being critical of each dish, the first saying this is extremely hard to physically eat, he did sort of apologize. The second dish the octopus, I literally shook my head in disappointment & he just cleared the plate & walked away. After being stuck for an extended period at the airport I was actually excited to know that Marriot has a restaurant & upon looking at the menu online, I was really excited to visit. Honestly would have been better to eat Tim Hortons.
Food was fine, very good for an airport restaurant. The service was impeccable, I really appreciated our servers & bar staff. The cocktails people were getting looked really good, but I stuck to diet coke. My problem was the floors & windows were filthy, & the tables were still on the dirty side after being bused. It likely a consequence of children running around & kids being kids, which is understandable considering its an airport hotel restaurant (its going to have tired parents & restless kids). It made me feel uncomfortable & we spent our time trying to finish up our food & get out of there rather than stay & get drinks.
My friend & I had a HORRIFIC day at the airport & needed some wine & food to get us through the night. We would like to thank the manager & Ayel (idk- bartender-you know who he is).. to get us through the night!! I am a server as well, & I know the simple gestures go a long way. The staff, (though it may seem simple), really made our bitter night turn sweet, & we appreciate it. We overheard you had a busy night as well & just want to express our gratitude for letting us dine late. Thank you!! Claire D'Almeida & Lauren Henry
