Bistro japonais/Izakaya "Funky & Cool" à Montréal! Le Biiru est un bistro japonais sympathique situé au centre-ville, sur la rue City Councillors, dissimulé dans l’ombre de l’église St-James, à quelques pas de la rue Ste-Catherine. Le chef se fait un plaisir de vous offrir des plats traditionnels et raffinés; vous n’avez qu’à goûter aux côtes de porc à la chair tendre et juteuse, marinées dans une sauce caramélisée. Elles fondent tout simplement dans la bouche! Les légumes tempura, cuits à point, sont également irrésistibles. Bref, le menu vous laisse bouche bée tant les spécialités sont toutes meilleures les unes que les autres. Vous y trouvez aussi une variété de délicieux tapas, idéal pour déguster en entrées! Le personnel aimable et courtois se fera un plaisir de vous accueillir, et vous promet un excellent 5 à 7 entre amis ou collègues. We decided to try Biiru as recommended by some friends & being a food critic, I was totally impressed by the food, the service & the vibe. Very relaxed environment, nice music & felt totally at ease. We all felt taken care of & that the whole team was in charge & very attentive to our needs. Very very good experience. Our waitress Juliana , suprised us with all of the food as we let her choose for us. Will definitely be back & will tell all my friends.Voir plus

Juliana was so amazing & provided great customer service, however the food was not that great. There was so much sauce in almost all of the dishes that it was so heavy we couldn't enjoy it anymore. The beef & eel dishes had so much sauce that it felt like eating three table spoons of sauce. The beef skewer with the cheese was impossible to eat because it was a massive chuck of cheese with a thin slice of beef that was not tasteful. Extremely unfortunate since the decor & vibe is beautiful. Juliana was wonderful & understanding of the situation too!Voir plus

They got the group experience down pat. Great idea to provide a preset number of dishes to be shared at a fixed price. Makes everything easier. The payment doesn't scale however. Somewhat noisy which makes the aforementioned group discussions difficult (especially for older people with hearing issues like me).Voir plus

Loved our visit to Biiru while in Montreal! Having just visited Japan this past summer we felt like trying out a local Canadian take on the great food we had on our trip & were not disappointed! We had a show at place des Arts & we were looking for somewhere to go eat before. A few weeks we had went to Hanzo & they had told us that they are working together, so we decided to give it a try. They have the same menu only a few different stuff. We got the Hasu chicken & we loved the sauce was very good, it was sweet yet spicy. The candied salmon were good, they were fried, crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. I wasn't a big fan of the sliced beef(I didn't like a cubed beef) nor the pork ribs, I would not get them again(it was too heavy). The restaurant was busy, & our waitress Juliana was really nice, we both had ordered some bloody Ceasar are the beginning & felt like it was watered down or a missing ingredient, she was really nice to make us new ones herself & checked on us so many times to make sure everything was good for us. I find that she was really friendly & nice, she was exceptional.Voir plus

La nourriture est bonne sans plus, car dans un plat de pieuvre, on ne trouve qu' une pâte avec des minuscules morceaux de qqch qu'on n'est pas capable de savoir si c'est vraiment de la pieuvre.. Mais le plus inquiétant c'est qu'on ne peut que payer avec cartes , ce que en plus d'être illégal, brime la liberté de chacun... Je n'irai certainement plus à cet endroit, dommage pour le service qui est cependant très bien, nôtre barmen & serveur était vraiment excellent.

J'ai enfin pu essayer ce restaurant! Excellent service très accommodant. Ils ont l'air d'être en train de refaire une murale mais ça n'enlève pas à l'ambiance. La nourriture était très bonne, je ne m'y attendais pas à cela. Ça se compare beaucoup à ce qu'avait essayé au japon. On avait commandé: agedashi tofu, okonomiyaki, tataki, karaage, brochettes de boeuf & fromage, takoyaki, sarada ramen & c'était irréprochable.Voir plus

Bien dans l'ensemble. On dirait que j'avais de plus grandes attentes vu les bons commentaires sur Google. Repas en formule tapas, c'était bon, avec des prix "raisonnables" pour 2023. Beau décor. Par contre, nous étions vraiment entassés les uns sur les autres. J'avais l'impression de partager ma table avec deux inconnus.
