We visited this restaurant today. The young man who took our order was very friendly & polite; however, there was an error with our order. I ordered a curry goat roti but received a curry goat plate instead, & was charged accordingly-$5 more than the roti I had requested. We did not review the bill before leaving as it was retained by the restaurant, & only later noticed the discrepancy.

The portion sizes were not reasonable for the price paid, & the overall food quality & flavour were below expectations. Both meals were served with the same salad that was not great.

We also ordered a Jerk Chicken Bowl but received & was charged for The jerk chicken plate which also is more expensive . It included a good sized leg & thigh, but lacked the bold, smoky flavour typically associated with Jamaican cuisine. The rice was also fairly plain & under-seasoned.

My curry goat plate contained a limited amount of meat for the price, with many bones. While the meat was tender, the curry itself lacked the depth & richness we would expect from similar restaurants.

Overall, although the service was friendly & the portions were adequate, the incorrect order, billing discrepancy, & underwhelming flavour made the experience disappointing. Given the prices, we expected a higher standard, & would be hesitant to recommend the restaurant based on our visit.

I've been to quite a few Jamaican restaurants in my life. Usually the portions are generous. My experience at Bigga Taste was the opposite, I paid 34$ & the plate was as heavy as a cheeseburger. They even put my extra plantains in the same plate & it went in all the sauce that was in the plate, no gravy on my rice. Overall bad experience except for the nice lady at the counter. Person in the kitchen is very stingy with the food.

Update : They forgot to put my chicken in the plate, which is why it was so light. I never got the plate I paid for since I live 30 minutes away.

As someone who wasn't familiar with Jamaican cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The food was delicious, with a comforting homemade feel & well-balanced flavors. The presentation was beautiful & thoughtfully done.

I was also impressed by how spotless everything was. The tables & menus were impeccably clean, with no stickiness or fingerprints anywhere. It gave me confidence that the kitchen is maintained with the same level of care.

The service was warm & welcoming, & the prices were very reasonable. A wonderful experience overall.

My Caribbean boyfriend brought me here, but next time, it'll probably be my idea to come back.

Stopped in for lunch as this spot came highly recommended to us. I can honestly say I have not had Jamaican cuisine as good as this in a very long time. Torontonian Jamaicans need to take notes. Bigga Taste has all the right flavours & spices & I really want to put this place on the map as a top competitor for Jamaican cuisine in Montreal (NDG). From the jerk chicken to the coconut ice cream, the food oozes authenticity. Thank-you for the blessed experience.

BigUp BiggaTaste. You have really captured the essence of authentic Jamaican cuisine. The extra touches like fine china & metal flatware creates the atmosphere of fine dining. Your curry goat was excellent, & gravy was rich & well balanced. The oxtail was well seasoned & also rich with the fried dumplings. Patties are baked fresh. Take the effort to pay Bigga taste a visit.

My wife & I celebrated Mother's Day at Bigga Taste restaurant on Sherbrooke street, Sunday, May 10, 2026.
This was an AMAZING & MEMORABLE experience indeed!!
The restaurant was clean, cozy & aesthetically pleasing.
The curry goat (my main course) was out of this world DELICIOUS!!
The red snapper (my wife's main course was to die for).
Frankly, the most sumptuously delicious Jamaican meal (other than my grandmother's cooking) I have ever had.
We will forever be customers at Bigga Taste restaurant!!
