I really liked the vibe in this place. In particular, the bar is really cool. The service was good, & despite being packed on a Saturday night, we did not have to wait long for a table. Had the cheesy garlic rolls & a pizza along with a dirty martini & all were extremely delicious.View more

Disappointed & disgusted with Bernie's Pizza Martini Bar July 5, 2025
Four us went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We chose 4 different pizzas so we could try a few different ones. To our shock, all the pizzas were burnt! Not just the outer crust but the bottoms of the pizzas as well. We called over our server, showed her the worst charred pizza & asked for a replacement. About 15 minutes later, the replacement arrived & it was burnt also. At this point we were fed up, asked for our bill & left, vowing to never return. Aside from the burnt pizzas (5 in all) the noise level is ridiculously loud & the tables are very tightly crammed in together. I gave 2 stars because they play great music & the decor is cute. Bernie's Pizza Martini Bar was fantastic! The pizza, calamari, & Caesar salad were all amazing - fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care. The martinis were also perfect, expertly mixed & a great complement to the meal.
The only downside was that the appetizers & main meal came out nearly at the same time, which made the table crowded & the meal feel rushed. It would be much better if the courses were staggered to allow guests to properly enjoy each dish.

The sliders hit the spot & the pizza's half & half option is a great way to try out their bestsellers. The ceasar salad is as good as it is instagramable (is this how you write that 🤔)
we were seated at the bar stuck between a service passage & a table of 6 that kept on moving around & still enjoyed ourselves.

Went to Bernie's Pizza Martini bar for my birthday. The vibe is amazing, super cozy but still has that cool lively energy. The service was on point, everyone was friendly.
The food was unreal. The Caesar salad was creamy & rich, exactly how it should be. The pizza was insane, like every bite was better than the last. & the hot honey dipping sauce goes with literally everything.
It's been a long time I havent enjoyed a martini the way I did at Bernie's. The glasses are so CUTE. I had the passion fruit martini & it surpassed my expectations. Dessert was also great im still craving the chocolate cookie dessert…

Not sure why this place is so popular in West Island… my guess - the drink menu gives them the edge when compared with other pizza places in the area. In terms of service, we went at opening time during a weekend, we had a reservation. When we arrived, the owner (or manager) was sitting at the bar working on a laptop/tablet, a few of the staff member clearly looked at us while they were still doing what they were doing, no one walked towards us (at the entrance) until a good 5-8 minutes later when the owner finally acknowledged us & made a gesture to someone so they came to find our reservation & seated us… just weird. The waiter assigned to us after was nice. Food is OK, portions are generous, in particular anything that includes fries, you will get a LOT. Avoid the ribs. Some of us ordered wine & immediately we agreed that our glasses were served extremely cold, it wasn't possible to taste it & enjoy it. Tables layout makes it impossible to have a nice conversation. They are extremely cramped together almost like a communal table. Chairs are quite uncomfortable.View more

I really wanted to like this place but it did not live up to the hype. I was to meet friends at the bar, when my mom who was having dinner there, notified me that it was very busy. I had her make a reservation for me at 9pm. When I arrived & was told by the OWNER that I would need to wait for my mom & her friends to hurry up if I wanted to be seated, even though they were not sitting at the bar where our reservation was. We finally got seated at 9:45 after waiting in the cold entrance for 45 minutes. When we got to the bar there were only 2 seats for 3 of us, & it took them a good 5 minutes to bring a 3rd chair. The bar was also not clean, full of crumbs from the people before us. We also noticed how there were many drinks in the fridge behind the bar, which were'wrong drinks, & sent back' but when someone ordered them again they would re-shake & serve them. The owners also seemed to pick & choose who they were giving free apology drinks to because of the wait & we did not make the cut when we had a reservation...Overall I would not go back, the service was not good at all, the pizza was very mediocre, & it was too loud inside.View more
