I really enjoyed my breakfast here. I ordered the spicy eggs Benedict with sausage & it was excellent. The rest of the food looked good as well. The service was a little slow but it was father's day & the place was packed. Prices are very fair also. Nice little place in marché de l'ouest, would highly recommend giving it a try.
We have been coming here for a few months for Sunday breakfast. The food is always good & Kelly, our regular server, is the most friendly, upbeat person & always happy to see us. We'll both the visit!!
I usually try to stay away from the popularised breakfast restaurants due to the fact that they are usually crowded, slow moving lineups, average tasting food very large portions & pricey. Today we had run out of breakfast ingredients at home so I wanted to please my wife & suggested we go to a restaurant. We had no specific choice so we decided to check different eateries near us with the least lineups 😂 Good luck at 11:00am on a Sunday. After trying a few we said let's go to a fast-food place. Guess what, no more breakfast menu there. So not to disappoint my wife I gave in to waiting in line & chose Ben& Florentine at Marché de l'Ouest. Of course parking was not a problem .Yes there was a lineup but the hostess was very efficient & she was placing everyone very rapidly because the cleaning crew were very efficiently preparing the vacated tables which can be a problem in many breakfast places, you stand there looking at some empty tables but somehow you can't get seated yet... We were seated very promptly. The waitress, Catherine, came very soon & asked if she can bring us coffee with the most genuine smile! We made our choices & we enjoyed looking at the cute baby at the next table. Breakfast came soon after. Great presentation, the fruits looked good & they were nicely ripe & fresh, the eggs Benedict with avocado & bacon was very nice so were the potatoes, properly cooked & tasty. The cutlery & the cups were very clean & did not smell of eggs which we have encountered at other eateries. The portions were perfect not small & not extra large, just right. I also ordered a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, excellent. The bill came to $48. Including taxes , very reasonable!!! On our way out I complemented the hostess. I commented on how well she is running her ship!!! Very hard working & Gracious lady!!! I will not hesitate to go back!!!
The quality is really degrading. One of the worst breakfast I had in years. The food is so dry, potatoes was cooked hours ago, same for bacon. The eggs are served cold though they look nice. I ordered a crispy French toast, but also very very dry. Only good thing was service, waitress was nice. Need lots of improvement on food quality.
This is our favorite place to go for breakfast & lunch in the West Island - amazing smoothies for kids, excellent quality food & fast service. Very friendly staff.
update - we went there again recently, service was fast & friendly & my bacon & eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was nice & thick & perfectly cooked. The potatoes are also delicious. i guess it just depends on the day that you go.
service was slow & not in order (tables seated after us were served before us). By the time we got our breakfast, the eggs were cold, the toast came way after the breakfast was served & the toast was too cold for butter to melt on it. Very disappointed since it used to be really good there.
Ben & Florentine is mostly a breakfast place for those who are not aware. We were a party of 8 but i will review only our dishes (my wife & i). We took the 3 Omelettes - goat cheese (includes spinach & mushrooms) was good & i had the three musketeers (sausages rolled in crêpes covered with cheddar, served with fresh fruit & home fries) - was good too. The service was average (i had asked for water & they just forgot us).
