So after hearing a lot negative reviews from at least 2 people complainimg about food quality (specially potatoes feeling like heated & reheated) & lack of sauce in the benedictines, I went myself to try this branch of Ben & Florentine, sometimes you have to try yourself, so I got the avocado lox which was amazing, potatoes were so good (crispy outside soft inside) & had perfect seasoning.
The food tasted good, the restaurant is clean & organized, no waiting time on Thursday 11 am, the only thing I want to share is the portion size is small compared to what the consumer pay, if a consumer comes hungry, they have to leave full, so I think portion size need to be adjusted to the money paid.
Such a pleasant breakfast at Ben & Florentine! The food was excellent (Bacon & avocado benedict) & all of the staff is great. My server Kade was awesome & made our brunch experience great. Can't wait to be back!
The food was not what was expected, & the avocado was in bad condition, fortunately my husband did not eat it. Unfortunately the quality is not the same.
I usually try to stay away from the popularised breakfast restaurants due to the fact that they are usually crowded, slow moving lineups, average tasting food very large portions & pricey. Today we had run out of breakfast ingredients at home so I wanted to please my wife & suggested we go to a restaurant. We had no specific choice so we decided to check different eateries near us with the least lineups 😂 Good luck at 11:00am on a Sunday. After trying a few we said let's go to a fast-food place. Guess what, no more breakfast menu there. So not to disappoint my wife I gave in to waiting in line & chose Ben& Florentine at Marché de l'Ouest. Of course parking was not a problem .Yes there was a lineup but the hostess was very efficient & she was placing everyone very rapidly because the cleaning crew were very efficiently preparing the vacated tables which can be a problem in many breakfast places, you stand there looking at some empty tables but somehow you can't get seated yet... We were seated very promptly. The waitress, Catherine, came very soon & asked if she can bring us coffee with the most genuine smile! We made our choices & we enjoyed looking at the cute baby at the next table. Breakfast came soon after. Great presentation, the fruits looked good & they were nicely ripe & fresh, the eggs Benedict with avocado & bacon was very nice so were the potatoes, properly cooked & tasty. The cutlery & the cups were very clean & did not smell of eggs which we have encountered at other eateries. The portions were perfect not small & not extra large, just right. I also ordered a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, excellent. The bill came to $48. Including taxes , very reasonable!!! On our way out I complemented the hostess. I commented on how well she is running her ship!!! Very hard working & Gracious lady!!! I will not hesitate to go back!!!
I have been going here for a few years on & off. Most recently have seen a decline in food quality. It was border line with some ingredients. Eggs were ok Smoked Salmon... could be a better quality Fresh orange juice... tasted watered down. I realised some of the oranges were a bit yellowish / greenish... so again not what i am used to at this place. The avocado on my toast looked a day old & not the bright green you would expect & what i am seeing in some of the photos. I did not take a photo as it's not something appetizing to show. Potatoes are good as always. The fruit was ok but has gone down in quantity. Seems like i got 3 grapes, 3 raspberries & a 1/3 banana No sides were offered... ketchup, syrup, mayo
