Wonderful experience, delicious food, & very clean & creative environment. I got the mixed koobideh & it was delightful & tasteful with each bite. I'm glad I got to take some home!
& the homemade baklava & the imported baklava pairs really nicely with the house tea. I will love coming back, that's for sure!Voir plus

What impressed me the most about the restaurant was its beautiful ambiance - from the lovely paintings on the walls to the elegant decorations & the soft traditional Iranian music playing in the background.

As for the food, I really enjoyed it. It was tasty, the portion sizes were just right, & overall, I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. We ordered kebab Torsh & Koobideh, both of which were well-prepared. The meal came with a choice of salad or soup, & it ended nicely with a cup of tea.

Also, the lady who served our food was very kind & friendly, which made the experience more pleasant.Voir plus

The mixed koobideh was so good! & the lentil soup was so delicious. My first try was with uber, i had the choice between a salad or a soup. I picked salad, it was alright for me. Second time at the restaurant, I picked the soup & it was the best. Would go back again to try another dish!Voir plus

Here's a polished review: We recently dined at Behesht in Montreal, & overall, it was a pleasant experience. The quality of the food was acceptable & reasonably priced. We appreciated that both salad or soup were included as complementary starters with the main dishes. The salad was fresh, which set a good tone for the meal. We ordered Koobideh & Chenjeh. While the Koobideh was flavorful, it could have been a bit more tender & juicy. The Chenjeh, on the other hand, was cooked perfectly. The service was prompt, ensuring a smooth dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with enough tables to accommodate guests comfortably, even during busy hours, without feeling rushed. One of the highlights of the experience was the complementary black tea, which was a great way to end the meal. Additionally, the restaurant went out of its way to allow our friends to bring their own cake for a special occasion. The manager kindly accommodated this request without any extra charges, which was a thoughtful & generous gesture. Overall, Behesht offers a great mix of good food, warm hospitality, & a comfortable atmosphere. We'll definitely consider visiting.Voir plus

Decor: Exquisite, beautiful, stainglass windows, the sun hit perfectly, persian rugs, faux brick that wasn't tacky...very chic for it's location! Soup: Lentil soup, insane, I could eat 4 bowls. Hummus: Very good, could have had more than a normal-sized portions. We tried ALL of the meat skewers in their'Behesht' platter. Unfortunately, the chicken breast skewer & the cubes of meat skewers were a bit overdone & dry, but the bone-in chicken & those made of ground meat were some of the best Persian bites I've ever had. So freaking good. Be VERY careful when ordering extra skewers. We ordered 2 extra & there are no prices for individual skewers on the menu. One was 7$, one was 24$. Baklava & tea for dessert was excellent. Tea was caradmom-based, so if you like that, you'll love the tea. But I must mention one last thing that was unfortnate. Our server was super nice & super kind to everyone, full of smiles to all customers.....except for us. The kids were well-behaved, we ordered efficiently, but she was curt, dismissive & her body language was quite rude. Now, obviously this could be all in my head, but she was like this to all the people at our table & we observed her not doing this with any other table. The predominant language at our table was NOT English (nor French), & we couldn't help but feel that there was some untowards feeling towards us because of it. Again, nothing that we could'prove', but a LOT of little things adding up. So, if we could avoid that server again, I would go back. The bone-in chicken & spicy Koobideh are calling for me with their meaty Siren song.Voir plus

This place is their new location at the corner of cavendish & st Jacques. Wonderfully decorated & truly a place of warmth & class. Staff are friendly though some had difficulty speaking & understanding English - though Farci is a staple at this restaurant :) The menu is wide & plated as good or better than in the photos. Pricing is on par with other Persian restaurant of this caliber. Portions were excellent. Freshness & quality are excellent. Review. Salad was fresh, cold & crisp. Dressing was good but nothing special. Lamb shank stew (Baghali Polo with Mahicheh) - not recommended. Portion was on the small side. Meat was rubbery & the flavour was lacking. Something wrong likely how they cooked it as it's supposed to be fall of the bone tender. It could be the cut they used & how they cooked it. The fava bean & dill rice was plentiful but overly seasoned with dill, the beans were hard & not tender, & the rice was very dry. It's likely they prepared the typical rice & then added in the additional ingredient & then over cooked the rice - came with a small piece it tahdeek. Also, insufficient amount of stew / gravy. There was not enough to properly marry with the tough, dry & chewy meat. Chicken kebab (chicken Koobideh). The chicken was cooked perfectly as well as seasoned beautifully. The portion was plentiful & came with perfectly cooked basmati rice that was fluffy & not greasy & came with a small piece it tahdeek. Beef kebab (Koobideh) was perfectly seasoned & cooked. It's was so juicy & fresh like no other restaurant has done to match. As per above, cake with & excellent tasting portions of basmati rice & a piece of tahdeek. Yogurt with Persian shallot dip (Must Moosir) was perfect & balanced with a thick creamy yogurt & excellent on pita or combined with the proteins. Portion was very good & four people can easily share. Eggplant dip (Mirza Ghasemi) was superb! Best in the city for sure. The smokeless was on point & the seasoning was perfectly balanced. It's so good you just want to skip to pita & scoop it out with a utensil. Apparently this is their most ordered appetizer they sell. Portion was excellent & four people can easily share. Dessert. I have included the dessert we had & lack the name of it as it's also not mentioned in the menu. It's essentially layered thin pastry (like a proper French mille feuilles) with cream filling in & around it covered with chopped pistachios. I hope I have recalled this properly. This was such a delicious light & flavourful treat away from the typical Baklawa. The only point here is the price ratio to the portion - either the price is too high for the portion or the portion should be larger as it's no more two to (max) three small forkfuls. We didn't notice & mention of BYOB or the selling of any form of alcohol so plan not to consume here. This being stated, you really don't need the alcohol as the atmosphere, service & food really make you very relaxed & satiated. It's amazing how packed the place was & yet the demeanour of the customers was calm & the volume of the place was comfortable to be able to hear the person accepts the table from you. I mention this as if your like mane people, a restaurant with a more calm & quite atmosphere is actually an attraction especially for the elderly who may have hearing challenged. All in all the place is great & will be returning for certain. As for the 4 star rating, this is solely due to the lamb shank stew. It was just too far from "earning a star" & until this dish is prepared properly I without the star, though a more accurate number for me would be 4.5 stars. This being stated I doubt I would order it again as I would not be sure that the chief or management/ ownership will conclude with the same assessment & instead be quite defensive of their food prep & likely not change a thing. I would welcome peoples feedback on this dish to let me know your experience & hopefully one day this dish will be prepared as it should.Voir plus

Behesht Restaurant in Montreal is a great spot for authentic Iranian cuisine. The food, service, & prices are all excellent, making it a perfect choice for anyone craving Persian flavors. We ordered the Toranj platter for two, which was beautifully presented & came with a generous variety of four kebabs: koobideh (ground beef), chicken koobideh, chicken kebab, & barg kebab. It also included two plates of fragrant saffron rice & a choice of salad or soup, making it a hearty & satisfying meal. To complement our meal, we tried their yogurt with moosir (Persian shallots) & marinated olives, which were absolutely delicious & added a lovely touch of traditional flavors to the experience. The portions were generous, the kebabs were perfectly grilled, & everything was seasoned to perfection. The restaurant has a cozy & welcoming atmosphere, & the service was attentive & friendly throughout. For the quality of the food & the portion sizes, the prices were very reasonable. Behesht is definitely a must-visit for fans of Iranian cuisine or anyone looking to try something new.Voir plus

Zereshk polo is one of the most popular Persian foods & you can find one of the most delicious ones here! Their masto moosir is wonderful which is a Persian dip with yogurt & shallot. They serve their dishes with Tahdig which is my favorite. Their koobideh needs to be more juicy & greasy to become the original.Voir plus

On a particularly cold night, We found ourselves seeking warmth & comfort at Behesht, an Iranian restaurant that came highly recommended by locals. Nestled away in an unassuming location, this place truly lives up to its reputation as a hidden gem. The evening began with the Soup of the Day - a hearty Lentil soup that was the perfect remedy for the chill outside. Accompanied by a side of Marinated Olives, the meal started on a high note. The flavors were robust, reminiscent of home-cooked meals that soothe the soul. For the main course, we ordered two plates of Koobideh & Ghormeh Sabzi. The Koobideh, a traditional grilled ground meat dish, was tender & seasoned to perfection. The Ghormeh Sabzi, a fragrant herb stew with tender chunks of meat & beans, was equally delightful. Both dishes were served in generous portions, easily enough to satisfy the appetites of four adults. The pricing at Behesht is reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes & the quality of the food. It's clear that this restaurant prioritizes authenticity & a home-style cooking approach, making it a perfect spot for anyone craving traditional Iranian flavors. Despite its somewhat hidden location, Behesht is a treasure waiting to be discovered. The overall experience was highly positive, & I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a comforting & satisfying meal.Voir plus

Not very great but not very bad either. kebab torsh & jooje kebab was good but koobideh was not good. Kashk e bademjon was good too. It was sooo noisy & not enough staff, & the downfall was that I was just looking for finishing the good & leave & I didn't enjoy being in that environment at all. This restaurant was much better before but now I think we should look for better options to eat Persian food.Voir plus

Excellent Food. My family & I visit as often as possible from the US. Our son lives in Montreal, so whenever we visit him, we always stop for a delicious Persian Meal. You know that the food is authentic because it is almost always packed with Persians. Our favorites are the Lentil Soup & the Koobideh. Staff are warm & friendly & very polite.Voir plus

We ordered Kale Kebab, soup & Salad, ans Marinated Olives for starter. Kale kebab was absolutely tasty as it was marinated with pomegranate sauce. For the main course, we ordered Kebab koobideh which was very juicy & delicious. Overall food quality was high & the restaurant ambiance was nice. The service could have been better as there were only two personals with a lot of customers.Voir plus

It's definitely the best Persian restaurant in Montreal especially for Koobideh kebab. The staff are really nice too. April 2024 update: they have made the Koobideh kebab thinner & juicier which is even better now! see photoVoir plus

I called today to place an order for pick up ( baby in the car) & asked for 2 koobideh plates ( pretty straightforward) the gentlemen that answered asked me to give him the name of the dish as stated on their menu. I was driving & couldn't open the menu to look for the names that they gave topical Persian dishes for something as simple as "koobideh" I drove from Laval in traffic ( 50 min ) to there & due to the lack of help & service over the phone decided to go to an other restaurant & pick up instead. He basically told me to go there to order & to wait for my food. Over all I will never be stepping foot there, there are over 10 places in the same area that offer great food & that aren't rude to people on the phone. He wasn't nice at all, not helpful at all & cut me off while I was trying to be friendly. I won't put 0 stars because it's irrelevant to the food but I am so disappointed. Never again.Voir plus

Tasty Persian cuisine with variety of Kebabs 😋 We tried family dish for four (Behesht) which had different kebabs, including Joojeh, Koobideh, Kebab Torsh, Kebab Chenjeh, & Chiken Koobideh. The food served with soup or salad, which I think soup is far better than the salad. For appetizer, we ordered Mast Khiar (basically yogurt with chopped cucumbers & garlic) & Kale kebab (smoked eggplant with walnuts & pomegranate sauce) which is a dish from North of Iran, it was a bit different but tasty. Upon arrival they asked your number to text you when they have your seats ready which was a bit awkward & discomforting sharing my number. Also they don't make reservations unless you're more than 10 people. Overall it was a great experience for us.Voir plus

I had heard a lot of praise about it, & finally, yesterday we went with friends. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. Both the food quality was low, & one of the staff's attitude wasn't good either. My friend & I had stomachache till today. We ate koobideh. Unfortunately, when businesses get busy, they often don't prioritize customer service & quality anymore.Voir plus
