This place doesn't need more reviews. It's an institution for a reason. The staff are all so nice. The bagels are 10/10. The mish mash is iconic for a reason. You can't go wrong
I don't usually leave a bad review but the service I received was so bad that I had to make a comment. There is nothing special about the menu here & I don't understand why there is such a rush or wait to come & eat here. It was my first time; I've had this place on my list for a while but I won't be coming back. I had the Challah French toast & it was ok. Service was horrible - I asked what was special in the menu & I was pointed to the Beauty's Special on the menu, as if I can't read. Thankfully the other recommendation that the waitress made based on her preference helped my uncle make a choice. It took me some time to order & I was told I had to make it quick because the lunch rush was coming & it had already been a while. By the time my uncle & his wife's order was done (which was ordered'in time'), I ordered my plate & finished eating before them. I didn't appreciate being rushed, I understand there is a rush & I know I'm no one particularly important but it still felt disrespectful to me. I wish everyone coming to this restaurant a good experience but unfortunately I did not get one.
Stopped for brunch on Sunday morning. There was a line, but it moved quickly. The menu is huge & has a great variety. We had the omelet with feta it served with great potatoes in side & also we had the salmon bagel. The service was fast, the food was tasty , & I was impressed by how clean the place was, even though it was full
Great place, came midweek for breakfast to avoid crowds & was thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere & food. Delicious French toast with real Quebec maple syrup & sausage!

Déjeuner ordinaire de base à 17$ (22,50 avec taxes & pourboire) servi sans fruits, avec pommes de terre rissolées encore un peu croquantes. On était assis au bar, & c'était tellement bruyant qu'on se demandait de répéter à tout moment. Mais le pire c'est à la fin. Mon café n'était pas encore terminé qu'on nous a demandé de quitter pour les clients qui attendaient.
This is a great diner on Mont-Royal with many choices from omelettes to waffles to sandwiches to bagels. They have been doing it right since 1942, so you know they are doing something right.
What a cute little spot! We were deterred when we saw a line around the block. We're from NYC so everything is usually fast but other places aren't as fast pace as us. We waited no more than 10 minutes! The waitress also a native NYer definitely has that NY hustle of getting customers in & out in a very kind way. The food was good & the experience was awesome! They also have super cute merch, unfortunately they didn't have a size S in a shirt I wanted but I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a cute casual place to grab a bite. The food is good & the service is amazing! Make sure to grab a challah dog! So so yum! Will definitely be returning ❤️
Malgré un bon service , l'augmentation des tarifs de ces 5 dernières années ( de 11 a 17 CAD en 2024 ) ne justifie plus le prix pour un brunch peu goutu & pauvre en diversité.
Belles rénovations mais le rapport goût/quantité/prix n'y est plus. Les plats sont très très fades. Au prix d'avant cela aurait été presque correct mais maintenant au tarif actuel il y a vraiment mieux dans le quartier.
Lived up to the hype. Exactly what we expected & wanted. I actually thought it was going to be larger, but didn't have to wait long at all. Would def go back.
Nous avons bien mangé mais au moment de payé, la serveuse a rajouté 5$ dollars de plus que ce que nous devions payé. En tant qu'étudiants étrangers cela nous a choqué & refroidit !! Nous devions payé 27,60$ & la serveuse nous a demandé 32,60$ .... Ce n'était spécifié nul part que nous devions laisser un pourboire. Ce genre de pratique n'est absolument pas professionnelle & assez repoussante. Si nous avions passé un bon moment nous aurions laissé un pourboire ... C'est tout simplement de l'abus au niveau des touristes.
This is such a classic diner feel & the food is really high quality. Even when it's busy. You shouldn't have to wait very long & the weight is definitely worth it. They have really good smoothies & just fantastic regular situational breakfast items. They are also very well known for their bagels which are delicious.
