Review Summary

Beautys Luncheonette is a historic Montreal landmark known for its classic diner atmosphere, retro decor, and popular breakfast items like fluffy pancakes, bagels with lox, and the signature Mish Mash omelette. While many visitors praise the establishment for its nostalgic vibe, efficient service, and quality comfort food, opinions regarding value remain mixed, with some guests finding the prices high and portions inconsistent. The venue is frequently busy, often resulting in wait times and a fast-paced environment that occasionally leaves diners feeling rushed. Although the majority of guests enjoy the welcoming staff and iconic status of the restaurant, others have reported unprofessional interactions regarding tipping and concerns over the overall cost-to-value ratio.

Very.... bland experience. The place looks alright. Nothing fascinating. The food tho is very very much normal. Small plates of quite bland, classic breakfast. At a 20-30$ price tag for a crêpe with a small half cup portion of fruits. & a scoop of yogourt. The place must have it's fair share of regulars who opt for nostalgia over value or taste to stay afloat in an economy where less gets you more at those breakfast chains out there.
Coffee isn't included; for another 3.5$ you get about 150ml of drip brewed coffee. An even smaller cup than what you'd get from a Barista coffee shop. Their premium home branded'real' maple syrup comes in a sealed 1 oz'shot' size bottle, like those tasters you'll find at the counter of any SAQ. For another surcharge of 3$, it's very pale in color & tasteless, almost diluted. Commenting as someone used to family ran profitable maple shacks selling to QMSP.

Automatic inclusion of gratuities (18%) for groups above 5 people.

Would not recommend, it's not expensive per se. But the value just isn't there.

37$ bill: 2 plain pancakes, half a cup of fruits, scoop of yogourt. Coffee. Maple syrup. Taxes & tips.

Nothing special & certainly not worth waiting in line to eat here. One minute after we finished eating the waiter told us to leave because people were waiting…

The atmosphere felt classic & cozy, service was warm, fast, welcoming. Everything tasted fresh & comforting in the best way. Definitely one of those spots that lives up to the hype. You can tell why people keep coming back for years. Can't wait to go again !!

Je vous déconseille cette place, ce n'est pas bon & le service n'est pas agréable. Il y a des adresses bien meilleurs pour un déjeuner à Montréal surtout pour le prix !

It's been more than 40 years since we were here & were soooo happy to see it still is!!!! & the service & FABULOUS FOOD are the main reasons this iconic Montreal eatery has sustained all of us who appreciate truly substantial sustenance.
Huge MEAT LOVERS OMLETTE & Saint Viateur bagels stuffed with delicious lox took us back to the 1980's.....
Coffee is locally sourced (processed??) & terrific!!!

Thanks to all at BEAUTY'S for being there.......

Overrated & trop cher. J'ai détesté mon expérience, boycotte.

Food was very mid. Only go here if you don't know how to cook & can't make a better breakfast than simple eggs, potatoes, a protein & toast/bagel.
Everything on my dish was missing flavour. The eggs had no browning on the bottom, no salt or other spices on my potatoes. It's very rare for me to add hot sauce to things so I can enjoy my food more.
I would have been happier if it was more affordable to justify the mediocrity of the plate but my dish was close to $20 & it went over that with tax & tip.
I only tried it cause it's a Montreal institution so I excepted the food to be better than what I got.
