A perfect emplacement for hanging out & discovering the Peruvian culinary! Will go back just for drinks with friends! You literally eat with your eyes. The presentation of the dishes are well executed!
The ceviche was a little salty & the flavors were not balanced, it was too acidic. The chicharrón in the chaufita was not chicharrón. I know pretty well the Peruvian cuisine & this was a disappointment.

If you are looking for traditional Peruvian food this is not the place. I've been there 3 times (because in theory it has good reviews) but my experience was far from special either with the food &/or drinks.
I enjoyed my stay in barranco. I loved the peruvian deciration. The food was amazing I had octopus causa as appetizer, arroz con mariscos as main dish & las ruinas as dessert. Everything was delicious the texture, the mixture of flavours the dishes were beautiful presented I highly recommend the restaurant. I'll share everything in MyOwnChemistry account :)
From the tapas to the drinks, everything was excellent & presented beautifully! The ambiance of this restaurant is incredible, making the dining experience very enjoyable. This was my first time trying Peruvian cuisine & it exceeded all expectations! • Anticucho Pollito: My favourite dish was the Peruvian chicken skewers! They were tender, flavourful, perfectly marinated, & had just the right amount of heat. • Causa de Camarón: I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant colours & the presentation of this dish. • Ceviche Clásico: The tangy marinade paired with the freshness of the mahi mahi fish was the highlight of this meal. I also liked the texture contrast of the crunchy toasted cancha & the mahi mahi fish.

The drinks & food had great presentation. The chicha sour & Maracuya sour were well balanced. The Ceviche Barranco was delicious but the fried Yucas were bland. They do not provide canchita or chifles like other Peruvians restaurants even when I asked for it. Some Peruvian music in the background would be better to have a more complete Peruvian experience. The dinner was pricey.
My wife & I discovered Barranco thanks to the Théâtre du Rideau Vert's website which lists restaurants offering discounts to their ticket holders. We chose Barranco after studying the menu on their easy-to-navigate website. Once on site, we found the staff welcoming & the menu, a culinary adventure featuring Peruvian specialties. The decor is artistically creative, the toilets are clean, the ambience is lively with background music turned down just right for easy conversation, & the service is thoroughly friendly & professional. Carlos was in charge of our table & supported by his colleagues who each brought a different plate of tapas as they came out of the kitchen. Carlos knows the extensive menu by heart & took the time to explain it to us clearly & enthusiatically. This restaurant is clearly a going concern. Prices are reasonable & the place was busy during our early evening midweek visit. My wife & I enjoyed the whole experience very much.
As it was our first time in a Peruvian resto we where very happy to have a great server as a guide in this great place..She took the time to explain to us the many choices on the menu. Atmosphere was lively & loud, but that is to be expected when the place is full. Everything we tried from the drinks to the dessert was top class. So in other words..we will be back for sure when in Montreal. On a personal note: As an older customer i would of liked a reg in hand menu instead of the bar code app.It would of been easier to order. Merci pour votre tres bon service
Great food & drinks! My first time trying peruvian food & definitely won't be my last. We loved our server, she was very kind & had a really cool vibe. We will be back.
There's no reason to add potatoes to Conchitas a la parmesana. It ruined the dish for my whole table. Please stop changing the original peruvian recipes. They are amazing just like they are. Otherwise the food was tasty.
Amazing food, lovely staff & adore the ambience. Will definitely be back again soon when I'm next in Montreal! & can't wait to tell others who want unique Peruvian delights!

The food is a really creative mix of Peruvian street food & fine cuisine. Flavours abound & every dish is enjoyable. The drinks are amazing & the bartenders are not only master artisans but really lovely people, so pleasant & skillful. The Maitre D' & DJ are the only downers, being anxious & moody respectively. The music isn't bad, but turns the fine dining experience more into a nightclub event. For some that is exactly what they want. I have gone back several times in the past & will return (even just for the bartenders, who are fantastic). Definitely a fun place to go with a group of friends.
Surprise anniversary dinner for the missus (Peruvian Food Aficionado). Delicious food. Great service. Only thing is, & maybe it's just me (maybe not), I had to ask to be transferred out on the terrace because the music was intolerable inside for both of us (No influence here...she said it first). It's seems to be the trend (I've noticed a lot lately) for restaurants to want to create an atmosphere (I totally get it but come on...) by playing Loud Rap Music, yes with all "those lyrics". Some people just looove to eat with a DJ in the corner. Not my cup o' tea. Grumpy & Intolerant people need to eat too ya know !
Great food...Check ! Great service...Check ! Loud Explicit Rap...Check...WAIT WHAT ?!? Check please !
Everything was really good! As a peruvian this has good flavors. The only thing is that we ordered lomo saltado & it came without rice, & we couldn't ask for a side of extra rice. So the lomo was good but it wasn't a real lomo saltado without the rice.
