The food was amazing , the limo saltado was simply delicious, the drinks & the desserts The attention was seamless & good atmosphere . The music was a bit loud but we had a great time
Fantastic!! Beautiful place with high energy vibe! Amazing cocktails, wonderful selection of dishes, well-prepared with delicious complex flavors. The wait staff were so friendly & accommodating, even helped me identify a music track that we loved!
Third time at Barranco, will come again! Food & drink were absolutely delicious! The server knew the menu & really helped with it. Very sweet & attentive. The music in the restaurant was a little bit too loud, it was good music but a bit too loud to properly hear my conversation. Other than that it would've been a perfect experience!
The drinks & food had great presentation. The chicha sour & Maracuya sour were well balanced. The Ceviche Barranco was delicious but the fried Yucas were bland. They do not provide canchita or chifles like other Peruvians restaurants even when I asked for it. Some Peruvian music in the background would be better to have a more complete Peruvian experience. The dinner was pricey.
Food was GREAT! Ambiance really nice with great music. We went on a Friday night. All the food we ordered was good & with a good portion. The little point off is that our table was near the door so every time it opened we felt cold. & also they should let the people choose their tips starting from 15% not 18%

My wife & I discovered Barranco thanks to the Théâtre du Rideau Vert's website which lists restaurants offering discounts to their ticket holders. We chose Barranco after studying the menu on their easy-to-navigate website. Once on site, we found the staff welcoming & the menu, a culinary adventure featuring Peruvian specialties. The decor is artistically creative, the toilets are clean, the ambience is lively with background music turned down just right for easy conversation, & the service is thoroughly friendly & professional. Carlos was in charge of our table & supported by his colleagues who each brought a different plate of tapas as they came out of the kitchen. Carlos knows the extensive menu by heart & took the time to explain it to us clearly & enthusiatically. This restaurant is clearly a going concern. Prices are reasonable & the place was busy during our early evening midweek visit. My wife & I enjoyed the whole experience very much.
Food was excellent, as were drinks. Only downside is how loud the music is--you cannot hear your table partners unless you raise your voice. It's like eating dinner inside a nightclub.
Everything was amazing lovely place to enjoy.drinks & the food waaaw really good .There's a DJ he was also great! Good music at the restaurant I recommend it to everyone :)
Service & food were great. The look of the restaurant was great. The noise level was what ruined the experience. The music was more like what you would find in a club, not a restaurant. It was so loud that my ears were ringing when I left with my family. I'm not sure we would return even though the food was extraordinary.

The restaurant was too loud (music & guests) & it was difficult to talk to the person sitting right in front of me. We ordered Solterito, Ceviche Barranco, Pulpo Parrillero, & Arroz con Mariscos, but the first three dishes were overwhelmed by Choclo, with very similar compositions & slightly different flavoring. Especially the Solterito, there was only few pieces of palm hearts. Though the dishes were not terrible, I expected more diverse & interesting profiles. The cocktail were good though.
Eeek! I have been several times & loved the food. This time, not so much. The ceviche as usual was great! The fried chicken sandwich was tough & chewy lacking flavor (maybe they went easy on the sauce) & my mom's pallela style dish had overcooked dense octopus. We did not finish these two dishes as they were just not good.
Our waiter was super! But I spent a lot of time yelling at him & my mom to be heard over the music.
Sadly, I agreed with my mom that had this been our first time to this resto we would not return due to the food & loud music. Having been several times before, I may give it another shot, to be determined. rvguy1@gmail.com - Ricky
The inside seating experience was ruined by a DJ playing way-too-loud music. Thankfully the hostess was able to find a table for us outside. Saved the night!
The food is a really creative mix of Peruvian street food & fine cuisine. Flavours abound & every dish is enjoyable. The drinks are amazing & the bartenders are not only master artisans but really lovely people, so pleasant & skillful. The Maitre D' & DJ are the only downers, being anxious & moody respectively. The music isn't bad, but turns the fine dining experience more into a nightclub event. For some that is exactly what they want. I have gone back several times in the past & will return (even just for the bartenders, who are fantastic). Definitely a fun place to go with a group of friends.
The cocktail are amazing & so pretty !! I chose La Nusta, its served in a tiki glass & beautiful garnished. Its was sweet & savoury. Food is very tasty & reasonably priced. The ceviche barranco was so good & fresh, the fish almost melts in your mouth because of its tenderness. & to add on all of that, the restaurant is well decorated & very colorful & the music was so fun; mostly latin music. Loved all of it.
Surprise anniversary dinner for the missus (Peruvian Food Aficionado). Delicious food. Great service. Only thing is, & maybe it's just me (maybe not), I had to ask to be transferred out on the terrace because the music was intolerable inside for both of us (No influence here...she said it first). It's seems to be the trend (I've noticed a lot lately) for restaurants to want to create an atmosphere (I totally get it but come on...) by playing Loud Rap Music, yes with all "those lyrics". Some people just looove to eat with a DJ in the corner. Not my cup o' tea. Grumpy & Intolerant people need to eat too ya know !

Barranco has a great ambiance & music. Loved the ceviche & drinks! Not many choices for meals. Perfect for a date or just meeting friends for a drink & appetizer.
The food was good & I was happy to see the vegetarian section of the menu has been expanded. The cocktails were also good, but oh man are they pricey. However, the vibe has really changed & not for the better, in my family's opinion. The first time we went to Barranco a couple of years ago, there was a Latin feel to the place & a fantastic salsa soundtrack playing in the background, clearly present but not so loud it interfered with conversation. The last two times we went the soundtrack was club music, not the least bit Latin, played so loud it was hard to talk. The decor has changed, too, making it feel more like a bar. I don't understand why you would play club music so loud it interferes with dining conversation in a restaurant, which has no dance floor. We miss the Latin vibe Barranco used to have!
