Bar Star Bar is widely praised for delicious, hot pizza and a welcoming atmosphere with good music and a lively neighborhood vibe. Several reviews note that while the pizza can be excellent, the crust on occasion is over baked or dry and some items feel overpriced, and the setup is self service with paper plates and no formal table service. A number of visitors mention heating and temperature issues, making the space feel cold and the experience a bit uncomfortable at times. The staff and bartenders are described as friendly and personable by many, though a few feel the service can be rude at the counter or overwhelmed during peak times. The pizza variety and overall quality are repeatedly highlighted, with some calling it among the best in town and the beer selection a plus, though on busy nights availability of pizza by the slice can be limited as pies are prioritized for takeout. Overall, Bar Star Bar comes across as a popular casual spot for pizza, drinks, and a good vibe, with experiences varying based on temperature, service consistency, and value.
I couldn't tell if I was sitting inside or outside it was so cold in the bar. The pizza was delicious but the person taking the orders was incredibly rude & unhelpful. I will never come back here.

Bar Star Bar is quite the place. Service is unmatched, Brad the bartender is incredibly personable & easy to talk to, they have beer from four origins which was the cherry on top. The pizza is so hot & fresh & the smell is so delicious, the chef Cam is the best pizza man in town. The place is the perfect size, intimate & cozy, but lively.
I was biking home after picking up a pepperoni pizza when I got cut off by a bad driver (& bad person) who wasn't paying attention (they hit-&-run me) & I broke my wrist :(
Three months in a cast is a steep price to pay for a pizza (the actual monetary price is very affordable), but I'll be damned if it wasn't the best pizza I've had in Montreal- what I could salvage of it, anyway.
Highly recommended! It's a bar as well, so a little too loud for me personally to want to eat in, but I'll definitely be returning soon & WALKING my pizza home.
I love Pizza Bouquet so I was excited to check out this spot. However, there were barely any pizzas by the slice available on a Friday night at 6 pm & the staff was prioritizing making pizzas for take out orders & instead of for the hungry clientele at the bar which was disappointing. For this reason I will not be returning.
My favourite new bar in the city! Absolutely love the gorgeous staff & the convenience of not having to stumble across the street for a slice like in the old days is nonpareil.
This is one of the best bars you could go to in Montreal. Such a great neighbourhood spot with great drinks, pizza, & service. The bartenders are friendly & are helpful if you aren't sure what to get. Prices are reasonable & the vibes be vibing.
Honestly. This is some of the best pizza I've had in a while. The staff was welcoming & I appreciate the grungy decor. Don't let that fool you though, the folks behind the bar & pizza shop are gonna offer 10/10 experience. Highly recommended.
