Tout est parfait belle trouvaille ! Nous y sommes retournées 2 jeudis de suite tellement on aimé… le service comme un ballet parfaitement chorégraphié… la nourriture extra & c'est un beau resto avec de l'espace. Merci!

Nous avons passé une super soirée grâce au bon service de Laurence & Olivier. Attentionnés, présents juste comme il faut, ils ont vraiment contribué à rendre l'expérience agréable du début à la fin. La nourriture était impeccable, tout était excellent, très bien balancé & d'une grande fraîcheur. Le ris de veau avec sa crème de poireau qui me rappelait légèrement une béarnaise était absolument succulent, un plat dont je vais me souvenir longtemps.
Je dois avouer que dernièrement, malgré les bonnes critiques, je ressors souvent déçue des restaurants, soit à cause du service, soit de la nourriture. Ici, tout était simplement à la hauteur & ça fait vraiment du bien de vivre une expérience aussi réussie.
Après toutes les années où je voulais y aller, je regrette presque de ne pas y être allée avant. Si vous hésitez, allez y. Pour ma part, j'ai déjà hâte à la prochaine fois.
Pour y être allé plusieurs fois, le Bar St Denis est toujours une valeur sûre, la qualité les plats est excellente, & il y a une très bonne ambiance. La dernière expérience a pourtant été gâchée par un service beaucoup trop stressé & pesant. On était interrompu toutes les 5 minutes pour nous servir de l'eau, du vin, enlever nos assiettes (sans qu'on ait terminé), demander si on voulait autre chose, demander si tout se passait bien... vraiment pénible. Le personnel était très stressant. & il n'y avait pas de deuxième service ce soir là. On est beaucoup poussé à la consommation. C'est dommage
J'ai passée une incroyable soirée!! Nous avons été servis par Laurence & le service était sublime, mon mari & moi nous reviendrons assurément! Les couteaux de mer étaient délicieux.
Le lieu & l'ambiance sont sympa.
Le service était vraiment pas attentionné, explications très vague pour les plats. Aussi débarrasse un verre vide sans proposer autre choses à boire & ça à chaque reprise. Aussi débarrasser les assiettes vide sans demander si ça avait été à notre goût.. un peu bas de gamme comme service quand même.
Enfin le canard était délicieux l'entrée aussi quand au spaghettoni à la truffe noire , c'était plutôt des pâtes au beurre , aucune saveur de truffe, ni même l'odeur c'est dommage
Les entrées étaient bonnes mais les plats, qu'il s'agisse du boudin ou des spaghetti à la truffe étaient très fades. Un goût crémeux pour les pâtes mais pas senti la truffe. Un peu décevant pour le prix mais je suis peut-être juste tomber sur un mauvais soir, ça peut arriver.
Belle soirée entre amis! Nous avons pris le menu dégustation & n'avons pas été déçu. Notre serveur, Olivier, était aussi vraiment génial! Il a eu une belle influence sur le bon déroulement de notre soirée :)
We got the tasting menu. It was a fun variety of dishes to share. Some were delicious such as the razor clam or the beef tartare. Some others were just ok.
The service is good & we didn't wait too long for the dishes. The price is decent for the amount of food we got. Definitely worth trying.
Sûrement un des meilleurs restaurants à Montréal,vaut le détour.Chacun des plats auxquels nous avons gouté était de la fine cuisine, gouteux & excellent.Les fruits de mer & les plats'chauds'relèvent tous de la haute cuisine.La sélection des vins est fort agréable.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Spotted up at the bar - cool, unassuming, & unpretentious for how good the food & drink are. Don't miss the pork, potato, or the labneh. & save room for very sizable, delicious desserts (sticky toffee pudding).
Service & cuisine absolument exceptionnels, nous avons eu un menu des fêtes en 5 service avec un pairing de vin délicieux - je ne saurais recommander assez.
If you ever end up having to cancel a reservation because one family member is infectiously ill, this restaurant is happy to slap a $40 cancellation fee on you.
I understand that restaurants by the law have the right to charge up to $10 per person for cancellations. However, flatly applying & enforcing this rule for every situation ever is just terrible business.
I had made the reservation the day before for 4, my sister developed a cold during the day that turned into full fledged Covid/flu like symptoms (coughing, sneezing, vomiting, etc). I did the socially responsible thing of calling as soon as I knew this to cancel, because it's not okay to bring a sick person in a small space with food around, but alas. Bar st-Denis punishes you for not bringing a sick person to their restaurant.
I had been to this restaurant once before & had greatly enjoyed myself, which is why I wanted to return this time. I will never step foot in this restaurant ever again & will recommend people against visiting for their lack of humanity.
We went with a group & ordered a lot of food for sharing. I can't say thr food was my taste, but others enjoyed. Portions were small for our group, but again we ordered group menu.
Pour notre anniversaire de 1 an nous avons pris le menu surprise & un gros gros wow nous avons manger au bar & la barmaid qui nous a servie etait ultra sympathique
Really enjoyed my visit here. The ambiance is lovely, & I loved the open-concept kitchen-it adds a lot of energy to the space. One thing to note though: the lighting is very bright earlier in the evening, so personally I wouldn't pick this spot for a first date (unless you're going for fully-lit, no-mystery vibes).
A heads-up for anyone booking: we were told that with a reservation, you're expected to order at least two plates per person. The portions are smaller & designed for sharing, so it makes sense, but it's definitely good to know going in.
Food-wise, highlights were the razor clams & tabbouleh-both tasted super fresh & vibrant. The labneh was great too, & the bread that came with it was good, but we definitely needed more bread to match the labneh-to-bread ratio. We also ordered the fries, which were a really generous portion, & the duck, which was delicious (slightly on the salty side) but worked really well with the mushrooms. We finished with a couple seafood pasta dishes-light overall, but the seafood really shone.
Overall, the price-to-quality ratio feels solid, & we had a great time trying a bunch of dishes.
Would recommend if you want to try something new!
