Review Summary

Bar Nacarat draws praise for a warm, intimate atmosphere and a chic setting complemented by a radiant rooftop view that makes evenings feel extra special. Cocktails are celebrated for creativity, balance and showmanship, with drinks ranging from richly complex to perfectly approachable, crafted by a skilled and attentive team even during the busiest hours. The experience often includes thoughtful bar snacks and a welcoming staff, with music and lighting that enhance the mood for dates or friendly gatherings. While prices can be on the higher side and a few signature drinks or non alcoholic options may not hit every note, the overall impression is one of professional hospitality, impressive technique and a memorable high quality outing at Bar Nacarat.

The Nacarat experience is a pretty typical Montreal rooftop bar experience, for good & bad reasons. For one, most of the city's rooftop bars are not really that high up, & this is no exception. However it's placement over Place Ville Marie, facing the direction of the mountain makes great use of the elevation for a fantastic view in both daylight & nighttime. Although this bar closes at 10:30pm, nighttime would be limited as this is not really a bar for nightlife. Aside from some shared tables, the space does not exactly encourage mingling but it's certainly possible if you are feeling social. Our server was a gem, very polite & understanding. Was not pushy at all for me to order a drink while I waited for my friend who was very late. The signature cocktail menu disappointed me however. It just felt forced, odd ingredients being thrown together that did not seem complimentary unless you use your imagination to make them so. I'm not pretending to be more of an expert mixologist than whoever was behind it but from my tastes it was not working. I did try the daquiri & had absolutely no idea why there was red wine in it. Was not complimentary to the flavour at all, probably done just for the floating red colour in the drink. Did not try any food. The prices are cutthroat as well but this is to be expected given this is the Fairmont rooftop bar.

Came for a rooftop vibe & al thought it wasn't as a rooftop than I am used to (this was on the 5th ish floor), the vibes were still giving. My friends & I got drinks & it's a cocktail bar, so if something isn't on the menu they said they would make it for us. Our server explained the menu & gave us recommendations, & even made my friend a passion fruit mojito even tho it wasn't on the menu. This focaccia bread though omg, the bread was phenomenal. I personally didn't enjoy the hummus.

Super rooftop & bonne musique ! En revanche je vous conseille d'y aller seulement pour boire un verre, le prix des plats est exorbitant.

The terrasse is not on the rooftop but 3 floors above ground. You can see a view of the place ville Marie ring & of René Lévesque. The service is courteous & prompt. There is a full bar & the specialty drinks are good & so is the food. The decor is very simple but a bit dated.
